...or Tuesday. Forecast says 97*, 108* heat index possible, dewpoint 75*. :coolhmm: Dat be frickin hot. HI here doesn't go over 110* all that often.
Gorgeous day tomorrow, though.

You can keep the heat in the midwest Woody, we are all good in the 80s.

I grew up in WI, and both my parents grew up in NY, so I've spent some time there. I love Summer here even when it's hot, but Northern Summers are paradise, temp-wise. :) WI could get brutal with the skeeters, though. Here, I can sit outside at night and enjoy the cool, whispering breezes.

I toyed with the idea of splitting today. High of 90 and the dewpoint is already 63 or so. Looks like it'll have to wait a little longer...

Just start at sunrise and quit at lunch. Thats how I roll.

Woody, a couple days ago I went to Columbus, Ohio. The temperature kept climbing a little bit through MI but as soon as I hit Toledo it really shot up. At home we were forecast to hit 80-82 but by the time I got to Columbus, it was 93. That's what we almost always hit when we go south. You can have it!

As for Monday, wear shorts and sandals. Take along some Red Bull, a few other drinks and lots and lots of ice. We'll be thinking of you...

EDIT: Holy cow. I just looked and we are forecast 92! Looks like a good day to take it easy.

Supposed to be around 90 tommorow again with humidity to match.Plan to finally get back in the woods after a 2 week break.I'll start around 7AM,bring a gallon jug of water along, quit around noon or just before.Least its heavy shade where I'll be,that helps a lot.Depending on where I go,I may just continue splitting & loading up some of that 3 cords of dead red/white oak thats scattered on the south & west slopes that I cut in mid April.Only 3 more standing snags to drop now (where its easiest access),everything else is finally c/s/s.

I think I'll probably be out at daybreak tomorrow and cut a load, then spend a few hours in the loader, digging some more logs out ;-P .
87 here right now.

90's today and tomorrow, I hate it this hot, I feel like a lazy slob and don't want to accomplish anything. Looks like the heat won't last long though, 70's on Tuesday.

Yep. I have some work to do in the shade, fortunately. Can't last too long in the blazing sun without taking a break. On the plus side, the heavy humidity/haze cuts the intensity of the sun.

Thats exactly what I did today, started splitting at 6:30 am, decided to stop around 11 . Wasn't that hot even at 11 but, that was my quittin time.

I cant even look at my firewood stacks...not even going to think about wood for a bit.
Temp is 103.2 with heat index sitting at 112.
The joys of the south!

Ahhh, blessed relief! Heat index is only 111* now, down from 114* an hour ago according to NWS. I think the highest heat index I ever remember here was 115. SIL wants us to come over and help her mix concrete. Seriously?!!
She does have AC, though. Maybe I can supervise from inside the house.

Wow, our little podunk town gets mentioned in a national article.

Heat index back up to 113* this hour. Going to be a bit steamy at the plant tonight.

loon, I was looking at the Ontario weather...only about 80*, but also about 80% humidity. :gulp: Sounds kind of sticky....

Heat index touched 113* today, air temp was 99*. Usuaaly I have an ich to go out and work on my 5 cord pile of rounds, but not today. I will pick the garden tonight and that will be the extent of my outdoor activities.
