The only available softwood pellets in my area this year appear to be Curran brand (Finger lakes, NY). Has anyone used Curran softwood pellets? Comments appreciated.

I liked the blend and the softwood, with a slight edge to the blend. They have a strange smell to them though, I believe it has been described as waxy or crayon like.

Glad to hear that....I bought 3 bags of the "Northern Wood Pellet" brand to test burn, and they are re-bagged Curran blend pellets.

Lowes is selling them here for $197.

I liked the currans blend but they burned a bit dirty in my stoves..
