disconnect the hose from the switch prior to the blow.

ok, thanks scott. i might give this a try this week, now that we're down to some reasonable temps outside.
 
I think most folks(me) are just leaving the door open with no ill effects.

I have the wife open/close the door while I am out running the blower. So if you are planning to do this? Yes its best to discountect the switch to protect it.
