I remember having a thimble that allowed one to push up on the stovepipe so that you could swing the pipe off the stove for cleaning and when you put the pipe back on, you simply pushed it up towards the thimble and you could swing the pipe back on the stove. Anyone know where I can get such a thimble?- thanks

Thank you!! I think you're right about the adjustable length of pipe- where can I buy some of it? THANKS AGAIN_ Paul

Make sure it matches up to your existing pipe, do you know what kind of stove pipe you have? If so, probably any stove store will be able to order it for you.

What a big help you've been and now I can pass this info to my buddy who is dead set against computers. I was mistaken that the adjustment was built into the nipple. The pipe we're looking for is called simply "adjustable length stove pipe?"

Sometimes you will see it listed as telescoping stove pipe.
