I don't have a truck so I need my pellets delivered. Are Woodpellets dot com prices outrageous? They want $224/ton for 2.6 tons of Homestead (that's the cheapest they offer in my zip code), plus delivery. I was thinking maybe I could talk them down on the delivery charge since I know in winter they offer a special on that.

I could shop around all over the place but w/out a way to pickup I don't generally get good deals (most of the best prices are at places you have to pick up, in my experience).

Also has anyone burned this brand? I have a Harman Accentra, and last year I splurged on Okies and big deal! Not worth it and the pellets were soooo stinky (like my cat's a**). This year I'm thinking of going cheap and convenient.

I live in Montague, that's western MA, sort of.

Well, I'm a newb as far as these wood pellet stoves go. I'm actually having one installed in September. From what i've gathered generally 197 is the lowest you will find in the box store, unless off season or whatnot. You can have box stores deliver, and i think thats around 65 bux as well. I've seen some people groan about the price of woodpellets dot com but it's really not that far off. For that price I personally wouldn't worry about it, they deliver it and put it where you want, within reason i guess and boom, you're done. Now the only thing i'd worry about is the quality, because i think thats what you'll be bitching about come january. Just my $0.02. I may go half at box store, and half online as well.

Sooo...I'm kind of wondering just how often do you smell your "cat's a**" anyway, and why?
Never mind...on second thought I think I really don't want to know!

Very funny. Here's the deal. My cat has this annoying habit of, when she is stressed out, leaking smelly a** juice. VERY smelly. Is that TMI?? Well you asked. So No, I do not go around sniffing my cat's a**.

sheesh.

Requin,

Go to Lowes or HD they have pellets too and for $65 they will deliver however many tons you want.

If you can get them Lowes has Green team, Summersets and I think winter warmth.

You can also rent HD or lowes truck for half a day but I just got mine delivered and then only had to stack them in the garage.

Hadley has a lows and I think I remember a Home Depot in Turner falls or Greenfield.. TCS is also in that area they have pellets too again rent either a truck or a trailer.

I'm too cheap to pay for delivery, so I've stopped at HD/Lowes multiple times and pick up 15-25 bags and throw them in my car :p

Just don't overload your car if you are as crazy as I am to do this.
