Picked up my M55 cast insert from pelletdude (thanks again Steve). Going to home depot on Saturday for my first 2 tons with 2 more of oakies to follow from somewhere. Just want to say thanks to the site for all the great info, been lurking here since last year before I picked up my PE super, which I am replacing with the M55. Not sure when the install will be done yet, still have to get the PE out and sold but I look forward to the simplicity of the pellets. Thanks again for having a great board.

Welcome.... The Enviro M55 is a beast. Love the look of the Cast and it being a Multi-fuel with an agitator, is always a plus (Jealous).

Yep..... Pics or it didnt happen... Great choice and welcome to the club.

Are you gonna step up and be a "Big PIG"!!! LOL . . You are on your way.

Not sure about "big pig" status, but I will NOT get caught short like I did last winter. Ordered 2.6 tons of oakies today, plus the 2 of whatever the box store has I plan on grabbing this weekend and whatever else I find a deal on next month. Worst thing is I end up with some leftovers, much better than burning pallets at the end of winter. I will get those proof shots up when she is in.

I see you are in eastern Ct also , where did you order the oakies from? I mainly have gotten my pellets from lowes/homedepot and havent gone to any dealers yet.

From cj's pellet depot. Not a bad price and delivery was reasonable.

ok i gave them a call today to see what they have but no answer. I ended up buying 5 bags of okies at Phelps and Sons in Vernon on Hartford Tpke.

Here's the website for CJs. http://www.cjspellets.com/ All the prices and delivery charges are there. I think they mainly work from their website. I've ordered several times from them; typically it takes a week or 2 for them to set up a time to deliver. The prices were lower back in April; the delivery charge hasn't changed. It's still high for those of us in eastern CT. I paid $114 for 4 tons to be delivered. wish I had a truck....

I work in ellington so i know right where cj's is, id like to order just a few other brands of bags to try.

newf lover have you gone past the N. Windham TSC to see what they have ? I think they still have all inferno, i hope they get rid of it and get some other brands i dont have yet to try. I know the TSC in Jewitt City had Green Supreme a while back.

I've stopped by the TSC several times; still just Inferno. Last year they had Instant Heat. Both of those are nothing I would buy, even for shoulder season. I'll keep checking and post if they get something decent. Home Depot right up the road from them have Stove Chow.

we have an m55 fs in the shop we cant kill it. ive runn it for 65 days before and never cleaned anything. it wouldnt die. i finaly had to clean it so we could sell from it. you will be realy happy with that stove. one note when your installer sets the draft make sure he dose it with a gauge. this stove is imposabel to set by eye.

Fireman,

I'm right up the road in Plainfield and I get my pellets from BT Ent. in Bristol. I got 5 tons of the Hamer Hot Ones during their early spring buy program and they were by far the cheapest around including delivery charge. Which Home Depot/Lowes did you get pellets (what brand) at as I'm looking to get another ton for early burning. I thought the one in Lisbon had some but when I went to buy a ton they had none. Would actually like to try Stove Chow.

Tony K ,

The HD in north Windham is where i bought 2 Tons of Stove Chow, not sure how much they have now. The Lowes in Killingly had Green Supreme, MWP and one other Brand, and the Lowes in Lisbon had MWP all were $197 a ton.

Tony K ,

If you want any accessories or anything for stoves, the Lowes in Killingly has all there fall winter stock set up. The one in Lisbon has the Price Tags just didnt have anything set up yet except stoves, this was last weekend it may be different now.

Right up until I read your post I was planning on doing the install myself. When you speak of setting the draft and having a gauge I can only guess that means I need some type of magnahelic to check the vac of the burn chamber? Is it possible to do the install without this? The best quote I got for installation was almost $1000, I already have a liner installed and have the pieces needed to connect the stove so there is no way I will pay anyone 1000 bucks to connect 3 fittings.

Thanks Fireman, will probably check out lowes for some stove chow pellets this weekend, all depends on what Irene decides to do!

Wow 1000. You could buy the gauge and do it your self. The gueages we use are around 250 but they are digital. A cheap gauge would work for around $60. If you install make sure you let stove burn for 30 mins befor you ajust the air control. You can do it with out it but it will not perform as well and WILL create more ash.

Would a homemade manometer work? Heck, I have some clear tygon and some water. I was looking at the installation information and the specs they give are pretty tight, .15" to .17", and they said it varies by fuel type. At that rate I'm thinking buying a gauge would pay off since it seems like I will need to change my draft quite often. Any m55 users out there able to confirm this?

You can find the dwyer guages on fleebay cheap, less than $40.00!

Once the damper is set, You will not need to chance it that often. You can use the combustion air feed trim on the control panel for tweaking the draft up or down for pellet variation.

Thanks I will check around for a gauge. Good to know it won't be a regular thing seeing as how I swapped over to pellets to make things easier.
