I finally got to really try out my splitter.
Ran about 4 cords through it and it works great.
Split everything i put through it. I am also impressed with the Honda GX engine
starts on first pull every time. Plenty of power and fast!

Love the looks of that splitter.. Looks awesome. I am glad it works great for you. That has to make you proud... Built with your own 2 hands.

Nice!

Thanks fellas!
I will add another pic, i am currently building a "bookend" for my woodpile.

How are you liking the valve position?

Curious to know what pump and valve you put on there? Is the pump two-stage?

The valve placement is ideal for me. Wouldn't change a thing.
The pump is a haldex 13.6 gpm two stage, the valve is a Prince detent splitter valve.

nice looking splitter, would like to see more picts. how fast is the ram travel?

Thanks guys!
I have about $1000.00 - $1200.00 in this splitter.
I will not go into build vs. buy that has been beaten to death, but i had the steel, axle, wheels and tires.
Went with the Honda GX200 and a 13.6 pump. With a 24" travel in and out time is about 11 seconds.
Most wood i split is about 16-18" so i save a few seconds by not running the ram completely in.
If it were any faster i could not keep up.
Its all good.
