The manual calls for 200mm from back, 400mm from side, and 800mm from the front. Just curious when I see this video so I asked the owner. Just don't want to see another house on fire...especially when the little girl's room right above it.

Cheers.......Som

200mm is 7.9 inches so it looks closer to the wall than that to me. What struck me is the stove pipe going into the ceiling. Don't you need a zero clearance box or Class A chimney for that? I really don't know. for sure.

The owner seems to be in UK and I don't know the fire code over there. I think we need someone on the other side of the pond to chime in.

Holy crap, I just saw the daughter's room.

Maybe that's safe and I just don't know what I'm seeing. But, that seems dodgy.

Sure as hell wouldnt want that pipe going thru my kids room...curtains close, plastic toys...
Not gonna happen...I dont know anything about stove pipe and I can see that being wrong.

Assuming that is class A pipe, it only needs 2" from combustibles. Here it needs to be chased, but perhaps not overseas. I don't a grave danger, just a different approach based on local code.

To code or not, I would not want that running up through my daughters room like that.

+1. It is quite a striking looking contemporary stove. It looks well built too. I would not put it through a bedroom like that without a chase at least.

God forbid there is a leaky connection in the daughters room.

With a firebox that size you'll never get past kindling stage

I was going to say the same thing, that firebox isn't taking any 16"-18" splits as far as I can see. Everyone else is right, it's a UK thing on the clearances and specs. Very contemporary...Not a fan

I find it funny that they have a gate for the stairs to protect the kids, then the pipe runs through the kids room that way! LMAO!

That whole install is just crazy, no chase, no attic radiation sheild etc. Recipe for disaster.
