Thanks BB. Been waiting on that shirt for 6 Months Now. as for the Wife. she didnt want me to Fire it up. But once she saw the Secondaries. her and Baby Girl (12 weeks old) sat and watched till it was unbearable down there.

I cant wait till Winter now. I have a lot of "Good Wood" and a Stove thats not to shabby. Still cant believe I got it all for $800 (EVERYTHING). Thats why I didnt want to buy an off-set. The least amount of money, for the most amount of buck$.... Have a lot tied up in Saws and Splitter. But I am a guy and Love my Toys. cant blame me for that.

That bad boy has sat in our fireplace upstairs for six years now. Painted a different color of course. And everybody that comes over talks about how good it looks. They better. Or they can just go home.

Wife thinks it is the best looking wood stove in the world.

What color??? I heard Brown..... I was wondering what you painted it with? What paint Brand/ Color???? I have longed after this stove from the few posts that you and Pen made, in the pellet Forum. I only went to the Pellet Mill when I 1st was lurking and became a member. Thats why the the few Posts I seen there got my Attention, I saw yours Sig's. 2 Mods with 30-NC's????? Well. I looked for awhile a gave up. Till I seen 1 day that a Forum member had a 30 for sale. He wanted me to PM, email, text him with pics once I got it burning...

Can not agree with you more.. the 30 is a BEAST. Wont have another Fire for awhile, but I had to tonight. . . . I love it

Good looking install, and good looking fire/secondaries. Congrats on a job well done.

Dex, just another nail to cinch my decision nice and tight about getting the 30. You did a great job on your install.
I agree on the pipe, ...don't fix it if it's not broken. The draft should improve once the temp drops, and you already have more than the required amount of pipe. Gooder to go.
I'd love it if you'd post up some more pics and info when things get chilly.
I'll be patiently waiting, but .....hurry up. 47 here this am. Heat rises, right? So, I can almost feel the heat from that fire all the way up here.

I agree with the "if its not broke, don't fix it" Looks like it has plenty of draft. Nice job on the install. Glad it worked out for you.

Hey Dex, thats a good looking install, and you will never have to worry about having a leak in your roof by going outside your eve, I have never own a england 30, but these stoves are highly rated on here, you gat a good deal on the stove and all that pipe, I would not worry about adding the extra pipe if you are getting a good draft, but hang to the pipe and this burning season you will be able to tell if you need the extra pipe for a better draft.

Dexter, great install. Can't believe you got it done so fast. And the price, you can't beat it. I am pricing Class A now and will struggle to bring it in under $2200 on an install just like yours! Good for you and good luck.

If anybody has not noticed, I like to Post Pics (Pics of the Wood Piles, Pellet stove, Wood stove, etc).. A Full Review will come this Winter. I cant wait. I am eternally grateful to Forum member lethaldose. He gave me the deal of a lifetime. Me and my Family are forever in debt to hime. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention the wood he gave me too. I almost got a half cord stuffed in the truck when we brought it home.

If this stove heated that well (Got to about 570* stove top/I know these are inacruate, but its an indicator) and had good secondaries (On 2 month Silver Maple). I was completely shocked. Im gonna go out today and split a few of the Silvers from 2 monmths back and check the M/C. Silver Maple from the begining of May is in the Woodshed and the biggest splits are already below 20%.

I am in Love all over again. My pellet addiction has taken a backseat to my Wood C/S/S along with my Chainsaw addiction.

Well its the 2nd night with a Fire. Tonight is the last night until season starts.

i installed the Extended roof Brackets today. Although I am only 4 ft above were Pipe is above roof line and 2 3/4' above the Peak (Well over the 2 ft). I may add the 3 ft section I did not install. It drafts great at 70 and tonight its 56 and doing a little better.

The one question I have now, is how fat do you shut down you air and do you shut it all the way (This depends on a lot of variables), but I am looking for general answers.

Thanks for everyone that helped. Its in a portion of my 2,180 sq ft basement (Upstairs is 2,180 also) that is closed of to about 800 sq. It got well over 80* really quick tonight. It was about 60 inside when I started the Fire.

gonna be a Good Winter.

Congrats and Looking good!

Your in great shape for Winter ...... :)

Once the fires crusin, I push the rod in until the spring on the end is flush with shelf above it. This seems to give me the best heat, and longest burn time. Great job on the install ! All that shiney chimney pipe makes me smile :) Won't be long now !

One last question. I have read where some users still use a Damper in the Flue section.

Because I have Double wall, can I just by the "Kit" that just comes with the damper plate, rod, and spring??

Or because I have Double wall, do I have to buy the stove adapter from Simpson??

The stove is drawing really good. It was 71 the night I installed and had great draft and fantastic secondaries. Was about 56 Last night and did a little better (Could have been the wood. Used Pine last night ... Ahhhh > NO, NOT PINE!!! LOL, mixed with some ash and silver maple)

So my thought is, it couldnt hurt to have one. if it needs left wide open? Then so be it. But would be a nice feature. IMO. I think the kit was $17 from the local store. Rod is long enough to go through my Pipe. Just need to drill a hole?? I think?

Anyone ever use a kit instead of the adapter that comes with the damper?

Thanks again everybody. I am hooked. Had the basement to about 90 last night. Still got a lot to learn about when to shut down the air and what the fire should look like when I do so. The glass was clean this morning and at 10 a.m. there was a good bed of coals. I threw the last 2 splits in at 1:30 a.m. and settled in for the night. I can see myself spending a lot of time downstairs now... A Lot!!

I haven't used a damper in a double wall pipe, but am going to use one with my Englander 30 in the single wall stove pipe. This is not to regulate the draft, but to give me something to help shut down things in the event of a run away stove.

Good luck,
Bill

Yeah, that too. Can never be too safe.

Already have another Fire extinguisher downstairs, Smoke/Fire alarm, and getting another C/O detector this week. We have 2 Smoke/Fire alarms, one in the hallway for the bedrooms and one in the kithcen and 3 C/O Detectors upstairs, One C/O in kithchen , one in pellet stove room (dining room) and one in the hallway for the bedrooms. Just need 1 for the basement

Well....... Its a couple days later than expected. But the Millright at work got my Brackets done. I needed 10" extensions to afix my brackets to my house, because I didnt cut out my overhang/eve..

He gave them to me today (Yes, I had to work today/ All Double time/10 hrs). I got home and painted them, but I have to work 12 hrs (3 a.m. to 3 p.m) tomorrow. So I will hopefully hang them this week. I painted them an Aluminium/Stainless/Chrome color. After 4 coats, they were pretty shiny. In the one pic, you can see the reflection of my finger.. Still need to drill the holes. But that will come when I get time.

The distance between the Thimble and the Bracket that is mounted to the side of the house (Overhang/Eve) is about 11 ft. 2 brackets should be plenty with one every 3.5 ft. Total of 15 ft of Class A. I installed the extended roof bracket also. In case I end up needing the last 3' section of Class A I didnt use.

Thanks for every ones help...

Fired it up again last night. Really didnt need it, but what the hell. Been burning mainly Pine and Silver (soft) Mapld in it. I cant thank you enough, I wish you and your Wife the best in your ventures.

This thing is a serious heater!!! I need to get some video's up on YouTube, with the great Secondary action.

Thanks again, hope your living it up in the Carolina's. If you are ever up this way, absolutely stop by. More than happy to let you burn one.
