I need some advice. I want to use a high temp black paint inside my Quad Sante Fe. Can you tell me what not to paint and what I can paint inside the firebox ...?? Also what is a good quality paint ?? And is it spray ?? Can I do this while the stove is in the house ?? The two fire bricks in the back i know I can take out and do that outside or in the garage. And the top plate i know I can do outside or in the garage, but what about the rest of it ?? Should I lightly sand the sides and plates for smoother surface ??

The top plate on the Quad is stainless steel so no need to paint it for protection. The best spray paint would be automotive engine header primer and paint. Good for over 2000 degrees. I question why though since they will get sooted up anyway.

I used Valspar stove paint from Tractor supply last year.
I had excellent results and its holding up well it was less than $10 a can.

I have a quad castile insert. I bead blasted all the back plates and painted them I also cured the paint in a old oven at work.

I removed the burn pot and ash drop linkage blasted all that to remove the previous deposits and painted that also.
