Burning Hunk

It finally arrived today. I only ordered it 6 days ago but it seems like a month.
Had it shipped to work to save $100 then loaded it my truck and brought home. Sounded good until i got home and had
a 700lb stove to unload by myself :bug: . With a chain hoist and slings on a barn beam wasnt bad at all.
The furnace is a BJ90 from yukon and i am really pleased with the workmanship on the assembly. The pics are without the side
covers which were removed for shipping so it looks a little naked.
Now i gotta figure out how much beer its going to cost me for help to get it in basement.

You are going to love it. Our SuperJack paid for itself and installation the first winter that we had it.

Congratulations!

Just got my boiler delivered, but it took 6 weeks. First thing my wife asked is how I plan to get it in the basement.

I really like the SuperJack but was too tall for clearance to floor joist above. I will be pushing the plenum clearance even with the BJ so i covered the ceiling with 1/2 Durarock spaced 1" off floor joist. Our basement steps are over 4' wide so hopefully that will make it easier to get it down.

Good luck, my shoulders ached for weeks after we moved ours and we didnt have stairs to deal with.

Congradulations. I have the same unit and I love it. Some advice: make sure you burn a fire in the furnace, outside, before you take it in the house, it will remove any oil residue on the steel. If you wait, the oil will smoke up the house. Additionally, remove the bricks and grate to save weight during the move to the basement. Other than that, your going to need a frigerator dolly. It will balance on the wheels and let the dolly do the work. I had 4 guys to move my furnace into the basement. 2 on top and 2 on the bottom. Be cafeful.

Looking good! If I would have gone furnace over boiler it would have been a Yukon. That's a good looking unit.

Does this unit have a secondary burn system? If so can you take a photo of the top of firebox?

Thanks

Refering to secondary burn it has a disk in door to adjust which with obround burn chamber directs the air over the top of the fire. That description is from the manual. In the pics you can kinda see the tube that the air comes out of which is above the firebrick.
Thanks Tom for recommending that. I was concidering doing that so now i think i will.

Sorry forgot the pic.

Nice furnace. Any idea on what the grams of emission per hour is, or overall efficiency?

Make sure your stairs are in good shape.... I've seen a couple creatures like that go through with guys attached. It's not a fun thing.

That would suck!! Thanks for the warning heaterman. I should be ok they are concrete and stone.

You will love this furnace. We had the eagle wood/oil and loved it. Easy to use and nice even heat throughout the entire house. Wish we could have taken it in the move.

The single series are tanks compared to our combo eagle. It should last you a lifetime. Get ready to open your windows in mid winter. We had single digits and were run out of the house that first winter. Old school cast iron folks and furnaces don't add up. By our second and then third winter we had it down.

Save some money and get a keg! ;-)

Nice furnace HJ ! Keep us posted on your install. I am interested to see it when it is done.
