I would like to see detailed pictures of gasification boiler installation. I am looking to install a gasification boiler. I am leaning toward a biomass 80, but also am looking at econoburn and EKO. Talking with the guy at New Horizon. I have two storage tanks that I want to link together. I have schematic drawings, but that only gets me so far. If I can actually see how it was installed. Then I feel I can do it myself ( with a little help from friends) :) I sure some of you wouldn't mind showing of your boiler installation design. :cheese:

As a BioMass owner/user for 3 seasons I am very pleased. That's not to say that if I repeated my research I may pick a newer design now 3 years later. I compared the EKO to the BioMass and am very glad I went with it. Lots of happy EKO and Econoburn users here. But do not take lightly the small design enhancements of the BioMass vs the EKO. That little window in the lower chamber has been a life saver for me (especially the first year!). Such a small detail, but I don't know what I'd do without it. Maybe I'll revisit learning how to post pics. Worst case, I can email pics to you directly if you PM your email. I attempted to post pics in the past and just couldn't devote the time to learning. BTW, our home is ~4800 sf and very poorly insulated but in a temperate climate here in southern Tennessee heated by the 60 boiler. Make sure you need an 80.

Wait.Dont jump yet.Look at the vigas line of boilers.Did you know the eko is not ul approved Vigas is equiped with lambda control.Burns 92 % and is 86 % thermal efficent.Easy to light and run and easy to clean. No turbulators to clog up.Give mark a call at ahona.

I put together a brief pictorial review of my EKO 40 install a few years back...

A few thoughts: No two systems are going to be the same. Don't just try to copy any schematic without understanding the "why" behind the designs. And have fun! Installing a boiler system is a lot of fun if you enjoy DIY...

I think the Effecta is worth a look see also. Brian at UP NORTH ALTERNATIVE ENERGY in East Jordan, Mi. is the US dist. and is a big help!

92%?...... Where is the condensate drain?

Have you been in touch with Cozy Heat? They are highly recommended in Michigan and elsewhere. It's where I bought my EKO.

I suspect the worst thing you could do is rush this decision.

I have some picture of before and after of my install. I purchased a Tarm solo plus 60 and used their diagram PT-1C for the plumbing. It took a lot of thought for a Non Plumber to get the drawing into a 3D space. A lot of fun in the beginning but three weeks into it I was getting very anxious to get 'er done.
