Appreciate the community and knowledge available here.

Replacing a 27 year old 288CCL Insert with a newer used model 288CCL. (longer post later)
and need to order an Oval to 8" adapter.

The old Oval to 8" pipe adapter is a bit ratty and would like to replace it while everything is accessible.
It will be coming out of the stove horizontally and into an 8" Tee with Cap for sweep/clean.

ID Measurement of the Stove Oval is 10.5" x 5"

Found these adapters:
http://www.elitedeals.com/cpf-21376.html (but oval is described as "5 3/8 X 9 3/4"
http://www.elitedeals.com/cpf-69195.html (would need a new Tee for this item)

Perhaps Part# 1860-CD is what I'm looking for here?

Anyone have experience with the fit of the oval adapters?
Best way to seal the adapter-stove junction?

Best Regards,

Woody

This is what you are looking for and it's one of the only places I have found it other than ordering it from a VC Dealer. All the other oval to round adaptors not designed specifically for the Dutchwest do not have big enough ovals and can be a pain in the rear to try and make work.

This link is for the oval to round 8"

They also have a shorty adapter. Here is the link to most of their oval to round adaptors.

Thanks Certified106,

I believe the current part is a shorty.
There's a SS flexi from the Tee top to the main.
The bottom of the Tee currently angles toward the stove slightly due to the shorty adapter.

I prefer the length of the offset part which will push the Tee back.

To clarify:
If mounted horizontally, is the new part's offset Left/Right or Up/Down?

thanks,

woody

Perfect, thanks.

Any sealing needed around the junction?
edit: nevermind, plenty of info on that subject

No problem, I should have also said welcome to the forums and hop you stick around and show us some pics of that stove when you get it installed. My family and I have owned Dutchwest stoves for years and always found them to perform well and require very little maintenance, Hope you enjoy yours! As far as sealing the stovepipe I have always used some furnace cement around the oval part to ensure it was sealed going into the back of the stove the rest of the stovepipe I never worried about.
