Cedar..how long to season once split from a fresh fall?

My father had a Cedar tree come down last week, and we spent the day bucking the felled tree into woodstove size logs. Prolly have ~1/2-3/4 cord. Looking on the net, I have seen anywhere from 6months to 2 years for it to season. Logs are split to ~3in pieces and stacked with the 'next season' pile, however, if need be I can let it go longer...but I was hoping someon may have the average time to burnable.

I've found the BEST thing to do with cedar is to cut it into 8" to 10" long rounds, then split it into manageable hand sized pieces, and voila, the best kindling God put on this earth.......you grab a piece, shear off 6-8-10 little sticks (it splits very smooth and even), two rings of newspaper, teepee the little sticks over the paper, add a little gentle blowing, and you got a fire goin' guaranteed, along with a nice aroma.......and save the bark, it's even better, 'specially on a campin'-hikin'-huntin' trip, pack it in a ziploc bag, weighs next to nothing.......as for drying time, I don't know, but as for storage time, cedar lasts a long, long time, I'm still using the kindling I made (as per above) from a tree that went down in 2002 ......my opinion, that cedar is simply too good to be burned as logs

yer welcome, check out what someone else has done, www.supercedar.com and think about how rich you are w. that cedar tree......btw, where are ya?(I'm in Md.) mebbe you need help getting rid of some of it? LOL
 
Waldorf is where I am..I only brought home a VERY small fetch...the rest is in Dads Garage for now, but he will be hauling it over at some point in the future.
 
Odenton here, but I have a farm down past Nanjemoy and go thru Waldorf regularly if you decide you (or your dad) want to unload some of it.......
