which stove model are you dismembering?

Hi tnroadkill, I have the same model dutchwest and mine is in pieces. The service manuel can be found @ www.gordosoft.com/woodstove/vermontcastingsdutchwest (scroll down and you'll find it as a pdf file.) All the info you need is there. Have a 7/16" socket/ratchet and a 7/16" box-end wrench and it's off to the races. Hope that helps.

Thanks, I can completely rebuild a woodstove but, for the life of me, I can't post a @#$% website. Much appreciated.

Just completed the rebuild of my 2478 last night. Took me about 1.5 hours and alot of patience. Got the fountain assembly for $240.00 and the gaskets for around $50.00. It's going up to 80 degrees today in SE MA so I guess I'll have to wait a few days before I build my break in fire.
The fountain assembly (which I was so concerned with) seems nothing more than a few pieces of 1/2" pressed fiberboard tenoned and assembled with a little cement at the joints. Good grief, I could have made this thing! I wonder if I could purchase this material myself?
Anyways...can't wait to get the chimney sweep here so I can fire this up.

ps. they shorted me on the glass gasketing mat'l...AAARRGGH!
