I had to work yesterday, but got the phone call to know if I was interested in some Mulberry. They would be done in an hour or so. Well the rest was history. When I got back to the house, I had to cut some piece's in half and stack them. Not bad for about 1 hour of work, though.

I've heard its good, but it was a great price free (beside time and gas but hey who counts that :cheese: ). Its all blocked up ready for a good fall day for splitting.

Nice score, mulberry is some primo stuff.

Made 2 trips for some locust in the past week - about 1/2 cord each time. Had to limb a bit and cut it up while tangled in brush. That was the most I worked for wood in a long time - but locust for next year is worth it. Your trip sounded a bit easier...

Yes, it was easy, this guy has been spoiling me. Thus, even though I really probably dont need any more wood for a while, I'm not going to turn him down. Dont want to break this relationship. But locust is suppose to be some good wood, and free is good. And a cord of that will be some good stuff for next, plus by next year you'll have totally forgotten about the work that it took while your enjoying its heat.

Nice score Chvy!!

Gotta love those kinds of phone calls. A co-worker texted me last weekend and said that the site he manages is having a "large" walnut taken down, come get it!
I got at least a cord of oak from the same site earlier this spring.

Mulberry is good stuff. Goes from almost a florescent green color to dark brown. Burns really well. Just pops a lot, sort of like pine.

I split some of it tonight, and it splits so nicely too. :zip:
