Sold the pellet stove and took out the junk fireplace. We even got enough free wood for the winter.
The project should be close to complete in 3 days.

The bad boy just rode into town. But have to ask what you are doing for a flue since that is one serious heater?

Anyway, here's yer shirt.

I'm picking up some tripple wall at sutherlands tomorrow as well as support kit. I should have everything except for the silicone roof flange (I have a metal roof)
The corner where the stove is going will have 1/2 durock and 12" tiles or brick all the way up. We have been wanting to do this for awhile but just now able to get it done.

The only thing I have true concerns with is the ceiling above the stove. 3/4 of the stove will have a 9 to 10' sheetrock ceiling that follows the hip roof the other 1/4 of the stove will be in an area that is 6 1/2' to the floor. That area of the ceiling will have hardibacker and be tiled like the walls in the corner. One concern in the heat of course and the other is the tile breaking loose because of the heat cycle.

Good lookin machine....good luck....happy wood burning !!!! Welcome.

I finished the install in about a week and have had a dozen fires in it.

The burn with a little history in the background

Oh, forgot the free red oak for next year

Very nice - excellent stove too!

Happy burning,
Bill

If that oak was cut/split/stacked this year it probably won't be below 20% moisture reading until the 2013/14 heating season as oak takes 2-3 yrs. to season properly.

Happy burning and enjoy 'real' heat! :)

I'm thinking you'll need more than the old Wild Thing to cut up that monster tree!

I got a new husqvarna at Atwoods :)

edit: that tree is a little spooky the way its hung on the stump. We've been limbing it trying to get to to roll off the stump. The next step is trying to roll it or pull it off with a ford 3000.

The OP lives in SE Oklahoma, after 1 year that oak will light with a match (ok maybe not, but it will be plenty dry).
