southern me.
Ok, been wondering this for a while. At my cabin, I pour a gallon of RV anti freeze in all of the traps and drain the water lines.....
I do this 10-15 times every winter, so 10-15 gallons of RV liquid into septic system every winter.
The septic was new 5 years ago. Just a weekend place, no washer, garbage disposal and nothing else that is harmful to the system.
The few plumbers I have spoken to said this was ok and would do no harm to the system. have not even thought of pumping yet, just the wife and I and occasional company.
Anyone else do this?

Well............ compare to a campground with 200+ trailers that are winterized with RV antifreeze for the winter (one time application) in October then ALL of them dump their antifreeze within 2 weeks in May into the septic system. I don't know if you can make any comparison just letting you know what goes on around here.

RV antifreeze and other "animal safe" antifreezes are typically made with propylene glycol plus sometimes, a few additives in small quantities. Microbes like bacteria love the stuff and see it as "desert". Glycols are similar to sugars in makeup.

I don't think you're doing any harm. In fact, you may be doing something to help maintain the health of your system by feeding it every once in a while, much like one does when feeding sourdough starter.

Thank you Semipro, I feel better about this.
Good info from this site as always!!!
