Pellet Abuse?

Talk to the boss man, can probably get the "junk" ones for real cheap or free. I have done it at Lowes many times with damaged packaging.
Nate. You are a braver man than I if you are putting sawdust and soggy pellets in your stove!
I've spoken to several managers at the store, but the pellets remain outside. I mentioned the problem on several Home Depot surveys (that you see on your receipts), so hopefully Home Depot-Corporate will put some pressure on them.

They sit outside Tractor Supply all year long literally around here. It doesn't seem to hurt them as long as the bags are intact and the outer cover wraps are in place.
I told some one at Lowes once that a cover bag had a rip and they should move it to cover. They didn't of course.

I stoped buying pellets from these types of places, to much trouble to get full skids that were undamaged. Now I only go to pellet houses that do pellets as there only job. If you buy in spring you get higher quality pellets at a nice price at these places and the skids so far have been great. Its also always good to keep your money local.

All to common a site at the box stores. Very few handle them with care or keep them under wraps! Hopefully they are smart enough to break this pallet down and sell the bags individually. I'd hate to be the one that gets this skid delivered to my door step(door yard)!

I've seen several pallets where the big bag and the top bag is torn open. Can't help but question is this is curiosity by someone determined to check them out. When you walk through these stores, it not just the pellets that have some of their packaging torn open and left there. To me, it is just vandalism.
That looks like someone carelessly stacking a pallet on top of one another and ripping the bottom skid up.

Feeling the Heat
The Lowes across the street from me puts them up on the racks and under cover. They do have some out front stacked 2 high with a sign on them still under cover and no rips in the plastic covers.
