Every year I seem to have an issue getting this thing started. This year, firing up for the first time, I'm getting the 5 blinks from the control panel, which apparently means nothing more than the stove didn't light after a specified time. When I turn it on, cranking the temp up, using the auto function on the igniter, turning the feed up, using either stove or room temp, it just sits there and laughs at me.

It doesn't feed...ignite...anything. The combustion blower LED lights up, it makes its cool little whirring noise, and that's it. Help! YES, I have vaccumed the entire thing out. Nothing is obstructing the hopper or the feed auger. Any help is sincerely appreciated.

Door, hopper lid, and ash pan closed and sealed? How is the venting?

Eric

sometimes the combustion blower decides to stick in one position. It'll hum a bit, but its not actually turning. Give it a little flick with your finger to make sure its free...and what Eric said too.

Don't know much about Harman, but I know the first time I start mine every year I hafta prime the burnpot a few times with a few pellets, because there ain't no pellets in the auger. Once the auger actually starts getting them from the hopper to the burnpot, it's fine.

If I may give a couple suggestions. I wouldn't recommend flicking the combustion fan with your finger as it is sharp metal and if your not fast enough you can cut your finger pretty seriously.. If you need to use a screw driver or something that won't remove a limb. Second is the fines trap free from.. fines? have you had a draft test on the stove to verify the draft is good? The combustion fan will sit there and turn for 2 reasons.. 1 is that the stove can't get enough pressure to make the differential switch to trip, or the ESP probe is sensing a inaccurate tempature and its causing the stove to think it needs to cool down because its way too hot! even though it isn't. Verify the combustion fan is indeed spinning to get pressure up in the stove if thats the case and it is then either something is open or not on right, the fan covering the paddle fan in the ash box, the ash box isn't in right, door open, ash door open, hopper lid open or the differential switch could be bad, or like I stated before the ESP probe could be reading out at 500 when the stove is cold which is caused by it being dirty, or being hit by a brush or vacuum and without a diagnostic tool you will be unable to check that.. Questions? feel free to contact me.

i guess I should have been ultra specific...do not turn the stove on, then flick the combustion blower. With stove in "off" position, flick combustion blower fan...then turn it on. as always, safety first, and second.

All I do on my P68 is turn one of the dials (Can't remember which ATM)t o test. It runs the auger for 1 minute to let the burn pot fill. I then change it so the stove will start up normally.
