Great looking job. Sight tube is very innovative. good thinking but won't you need that float this winter?? lol :cheese:

Thanks, it worked out pretty well but I must admit I searched hi and low for some type of plastic marble. I was looking at farm and fleet and a young woman that worked there said "How about a bobber?" They did not have anything that would work so I made one more stop at Gander Moutain and grabbed a Thill float.

Is that a hot water heater tank with the insulation and shroud taken off?

No, it was a 120 gal horizontal propane tank.

Very nice. Is it located above the boiler? If so, does it have to be?

Its on the same level. I filled about 10" of water. If you look at the black tape that was the original fill line. I then pre-charged with 12 psi of air. The tank gained 15.5" of water and went to 22psi.

Goosegunner, where did ya get the propane tank? I've been looking for a smaller tank for storage. I ask cause I noticed you live in tax hell too. I'm really looking into storage this year. I did find 120 gal. compression tanks for 400 ea. New, but kind of costly.

Won't fit in the pex.

You saved big time money doing it this way vs. a bladder tank. Very nice. Looks fantastic...
