Hi, I have a Regency R14

Can you explain which is the top side and the front of the baffle?

I have take a picture of how I think the baffle should be installed, as a picture should best explain my question.

Time for a new baffle plate, that one is slightly warped..............When you install the new one, put a 1" Kaowool blanket on top of it. You will like the performance even more.

thanks for the suggestion on the kaowool.
I have lots of 2" bat of ceramic fibre blanket. I can try this as a substitute for kaowool

check out the other baffle blog re proper placement

My R14 was built in 1992. Your baffle is definitely done. Expect a replacement price of $130- 150. CDN. My new baffle, (1 1/2 years ago) came with 2 perpendicular pieces of cast along the bottom, one along the front & one along the rear of the insert. Unfortunately, they don't last as long as a newer style ceramic lap style baffle.
