Well I decided to swap out my Jotul Castine for an Oslo. While the Castine is still a good stove the Oslo seems to even be better. I like the side door option and the larger firebox. I am very glad I made the switch. Looking forward to getting a little more heat....

Sharp looking stove. Congratulations!

mmichaud, very nice job. I love the stone. The whole set-up looks very professional. I see you're in Milwaukee. Madison here. What kind of stone? Is this in a basement? Also, masonry chimney or class A?

I know that feeling. Congratulations. Looks like you are set for the winter.

Really nice.

Excuse me now. Off to the family room to throw yet another beer can at my ugly hearth after seeing yours.

WoodNStuff, the rock is river rock. I believe that I purchased it at Menard's. Did the rock myself which was a very time consuming job. The stove is in my finished basement, orginal masonry chimney relined with soild stainless steel pipe. Set up seems to work very well.

Again, very nice job. I only hope that mine turns out so fine! I'll have to check out the river rock. Is this stuff pricey? I stopped at a dealer that sells stone veneer and stone countertops. Their stone veneer prices were in the $13 per sq ft and up. Which on the face of it doesn't seem like much until the multiplication tool gets turned on in my brain. Then I realize that even a small project will cost in the $400 plus range just for the stone.

Nice stove . . . beautiful hearth.

Good looking stove and you cant get much of a better looking hearth than that

This is my favorite new install pic...... :)
I love the stone with the black stove.....very tasteful....
I am jealous... :red:

Wow does that stove look good in black.Very nice set up.Walk away from the puter and pat yourself on the back and give ya 1 for me.

Nice looking install and stove enjoy the extra heat!

Very well done I see you have the screen later on this winter let us know how you like it. I may get one for my stove. Do you also have a blower?

I too love the stone. Very, very , very nice.

Shawn

Another vote for the awesome stone work. Great Job!!

cptoneleg, I like the screen and the stove functions well with it on. I do like the fireplace effect especially when entertaining. No smoke however I loose most of my heat up the chimney. No blower on the stove, just a box fan circulating the air around the basement.
