32 degrees outside right now. No fire yet as it doesn't feel cold in the house. Looks like we'll have some sunshine so that might get us by. If need be though we'll light a small fire.

Whoops. Wife asked for a fire so I lit up.

I took the picture to show the fire and the wood rack so you can see how close the wood is to the stove. Easy to get and just put right into the stove.

As for the fire in the stove, I had already turned the draft down because the flue temperature had reached 450 (exterior reading). Now the cat has been engaged and the stove is throwing good heat. Sun is up too so maybe it will warm a bit today.

I've lit it off the last two nights, the house was low 60's so my shoulder season Pecan got the match & SuperCedar treatment. Two year old Pecan fires off easily and has nice aroma.

We've been burning on and off for several weeks to keep the chill off, especially in the mornings. I talked to a friend at a football game last night (45 degrees with mist and light rain) who said that they just ran their heat for the first time yesterday. She said their living room was 62. I told her that our living room was approaching 80 when I left the house. 80 is too warm for me but my wife and daughters think that it's great. Today, we have a fire burning in our basement. The living room is 72 and the basement is in the high 70s. Once you get used to mid 70s, any temps under 70 feels cold. I'll keep cutting more wood.

Been burning evenings for about a week.So far just burning box elder and other junk wood but that puts just enough heat into the house without overdoing it.Won't start burning the good stuff till after thanksgiving

It does seem as though our Fall has been unusually warm this year . . . but the evenings can get a bit chilly and the rain and damp kind of makes things a bit chilly . . . my own feeling . . . I worked hard to get a lot of seasoned wood . . . might as well burn it whenever I want to if things are cool . . .

I think I started burning a bit before this last year. 67 in my somewhat well insulated house right now with no heat.

If it falls below 70 in my house, the stove gets lit.

Been burning off/on in the evenings for the past 2 weeks. Last night it got down to 29deg and tonight will be ~30deg, with highs only in the 50s during the day. So, I've had a fire going since I got home from work and it is a cozy 76deg inside right now. :cheese:

That sir, is a beautiful stove.

I've been loading once a day on and off for a couple weeks. It's much easier to deal with this warm weather burning since we installed the BK, set it low and let it go for 20 hours.
