I could get the huskee 22 ton splitter for 899.00 at tractor supply. Is it worth it or should I save for something else. I have til tomorrow or I loose out so need advise quick.

Its a great deal at 999.00 so Yes Thats a good deal!

That isn't but a few bucks more than I paid for my 20 ton. In 1988.

I recommend them all the time at $999. Go get it... right now! They are very highly regarded around here.

I'd be all over it. Sounds like a good deal !

Well I just purchased it for 899.00. Tried it on a piece of hickory I had left over from the spring with a bunch of knots. It went right through it. I checked the fluids and all good. When i ran it it had a smell to it like it was burning off paint.

It is, and nothing to worry about.

There are seldom any in stock at the local TSC. They get one in, assemble it, it's sold in less than 24hrs, and repeat.

Congrats on a great deal. That machine will serve you well.

Good deal and good purchase.

thats a great deal. really is a decent splitter. just check the bolts and stuff, they put them together in the store and i think they sometimes slack and don't tighten things up good.. all in all i have no complaints been a good piece of equipment.

Checked the Tractor Supply website using my zip code. The price is $999.00. Is the $899.00 price in select areas only? I've got a splitter, so not really going to buy. Just curious.

PLEASE GIVE ME THIS INFORMATION! :cheese: I will buy one immediately! My wife just gave me approval for that price.

They were $999. at the local TSC last Spring, now they are $1,099.00.

I'd assume that one particular unit is discounted for a reason--a return, a repair, a little rust on a demo model, etc.

It could even be something about which they'll never tell you. For example: maybe a TSC employee bought it, never used it, and decided to return it for the SpeedPro.

grande opening of the store. price was 1099.00 marked down to 999.00 and I had a 10 percent off coupon. total savings was 200.00. final cost 899.00 ..............

Sheepdog,

Just a tip, TSC annouces the grand openings of their stores on their website. You could stalk that splitter!

I was at my local TS and was thinking about the 25 ton splitter....forgot the price....my Wife was looking at the 35 ton....don't think I need that big a unit....so, Huskee is a good brand ??

Beer Belly, there are a large number of members here who have a Huskee 22 or its cousin, the Speeco (which makes Huskee.) Most are very happy with them. I don't think you gain enough by going to the 25 ton to warrant the extra money. The 35 ton may be overkill for many people. I don't think you can go wrong with the 22 ton Huskee.

The only reason I have a Huskee 35 is that I ran into a once in a lifetime deal where a lady was selling her husband's new, totally unused Huskee 35 ton splitter for $1000. Seems it had been in storage since he bought it. He ran off with another woman and his wife got tired of paying the storage unit fee. I happen to find the Craigslist post seconds after she posted it and I was the first one to call her. Major score for me.
Otherwise, I would have spent my $1000 on the 22 ton Huskee.

Good luck to you. Sounds like your wife is onboard. Not all of us can say that.
