hi all.gave the stove a good cleaning, motors removed and lubed and new gasket on comb blower.pipes all brushed and fired up the leaf blower.she's clean as a whistle and all ready for another season.sittin on 4 ton.3 ton green team and another ton of smoagisgborg.
i am looking for help on picking up a magna gauge.my enviro manual recommends a setting of 0.10 inches.everyone i talk to seems to think this number is awful low and the way the stove burns on this setting reflects that.i found it burns so much better if set to 0.14.
i want to buy one on ebay so i dont have to keep borrowing one but could use help on which one to get.does it matter if i get 0-0.50 or 0-1.0
last year i had some issues with the stove and it turnd out that my ash pan was warped.that has since been rectified.i also got a high ash liner for the burn pot.with these two changes to the stove i'm guessing the draft setting will change.i know you can do it visually also but would like to do it with the gauge.thanks in advance,Corkman.

I have a 0-112% or maybe it's a zero to 2the Carter you can have cheap. Non fire sat night come on over and get it.

I bought one off of Ebay and it was scaled 0-.25
Since the Enviro was suppose to be 0.11 is was mid range. I found out also that the recommend range from Enviro is on the low side and would not push out the ash from the burn pot well.
Some stoves have a higher range so if you are going to use it on other stoves then you should get a larger range.

hi guys.thanks for the replies.just back from florida after 10 exhausting days in the sun.ebay has a few on there that are 0-.25 and 0-.50 .most seem to be sold as just the gauge itself with no adapters for connecting the tube to it.are these available at most hardware stores or should i hold out till i see one that comes complete.how about the ones you guys bought from ebay.did the come complete or did you have to piece it together.

I pieced mine together. I went to the hardware store and found 1/4 inch tubing that fit the gauge. Mine had the nipples in the bag. I use a tee with a short piece of hose and put it right into the vacuum line. Vacuum tee can be found at hardware or auto parts store.

all new ones come with the nipples but the majority of the old ones dont show them as being part of the sale.my plan was to take the reading from the hole at the front of the stove thru the 1/8" hole using a piece of copper thermocouple that i cut up.
Jay,so you took the reading at the side of the stove by putting a t in the vac hose and connecting you gauge to the T,correct ?does this change the reading.my setting is .14 at front of stove.would i look for the same reading if doing it at ths vac line

I use the port on my Omega, But all the stoves that don't have one I do it with a tee. I assumed(way too many times this week) your stove doesn't have the port to check it. If it does? You can use a piece of brake line or something that fits in the provided hole. Too hard to hold the tubing exactly over the hole. You better of with something that goes in it.

The nipples are 1/8th NPT to 1/4" tubing. Industrial supply hose like graingers should have them. Might be able to get them right on ebay too!

The one I got from ebay had a nipple on it but I had to buy a smaller one.
Since my stove has a 1/8" hole i had trouble finding something that small.
I finally went to a hobbie store and they had two foot section of tube that was either copper or stainless steel.
I opted for the copper. They also had the hose I needed from the copper tubing to the nipple.

i have the tube and also have the copper to fit inside hole.should i opt for one that does not have the nipples, where can i pick these up

thanks guys.gives me a few more to choose from knowing i can piece it together if need be.i wasnt sure where to get the nipples if i needed them ,but i have a grainger store pretty much in my back yard.can public buy there or do you need an account
