I have a Santa Fe pellet stove in our living room. I have checked the installation manual and it says nothing about how far to keep furniture away from the front of the stove. It only states that you must keep flamibles away from it. My question is how far away from the front of the pellet stove should furnature and chairs (recliners) be kept from the stove. I have only read one article that states to keep curtains and furnature 3' to 5' away. That distance sounds reasonable to me, but was looking for a little more input on the distance. Any thoughts or directions to articles about clearances would be appreciated. Thanks

When I filled out my insurance questionnaire they required 3 feet. I keep at least this

Hello

The hearth should extend 6 inches out in front of the pellet stove according to most manuals. Of course no one should be closer than that. I made a raised hearth so my feet hit the hearth before I do.

That 3' sounds reasonable. There's not a whole lot of heat coming off the front. About 160 degree air plus the radiant heat off of the glass. I would worry more about drying out the leather on a recliner or wood on any other furniture than a fire hazard.

My manual says 6" from front of stove to front of heart. That's it.
