Think my ignitor went out last night. Cleaned stove good with shop-vac. Would not light after that. Can't see ignitor getting hot so I assume this is the problem. Stove is 4 yrs old. Mt. Vernon AE.

If you got 4 years out of your ignitor, you did real good. It is easy to replace, I usually always make sure I have one on hand for when it decides to quit. I think They are around $45 a piece. Just make sure you run the wire through the notch in the autoclean bracket or else you may end up cutting the wire when it autocleans.

thanks guys. i have replaced one already. same time last year. was hoping to get more then one year out of it.

it was working fine this year till i cleaned the stove.

Did you vaccum underneath in the ashpan area that maybe you hit where the wire connects to the ignitor and maybe broke the connection, I had a new igniter that did not work right when I put it in because this connection had broke and I couldn't see it because of the white wrapping around it. If you remove the ignitor you should be able to see where it burned through if it is bad if not you can use a multi meter and ohm it out to see if it is bad

I called the dealer. Going to stop tonight and pick up a new ignitor. At least I will have an extra. Will pull ignitor and check it out tonight. Hopefully I just bumped the connections. I know the stove ran about an hour before cleaning. The baffle was still warm to the touch.

Suggested Retail on a new one $62.00 (SRV7000-462)

ok guys....do i buy just the igniter for 43.00 OR

do i buy the replacement burn pot upgrade that i don't have, includes igniter casket and new burn pot for 85.00

leaning towards burn pot but know the wife won't like the extra money. anybody have this upgraded burn pot.

I think I would replace the whole thing myself. I changed mine out and haven't had a problem going on 2 yrs.

Here's the update....

I went with the pot and igniter combo. The pot is identical to the old one. The sleeve the igniter slides into has a hole in the side facing the burn pot. If I knew then I would have pulled burn out and drilled some holes in that sleeve area. It is a different type of metal than the actual pot. The burn pot is very easy to remove.

1. Unhook igniter
2. remove baffle
3. remove 2 bolts on top of burn pot. (1 bolt also holds thermo-coupler in place)
4. lift burn pot up and out.

On re-install you would need to purchase a casket for the burn pot. My orginal casket was pretty much non-existing.

Hope this helps someone save some money and igniters.

Well that was a miss type. Maybe because I felt like getting a casket after dealing with the wife being cold....LOL.

The actual pot itself is the same. the difference they are showing is what I tried to explain. The 2nd picture there is showing the sleeve the igniter slides into. That is what has the additional holes in it.

Where are you getting the burn pot upgrades for $85.00?

Purchased from my local dealer in Central Pennsylvania. I wouldn't spend the money on it again though. I would just drill holes in the sleeve the igniter sits in.
