It must be the beginning of heating season... everyone's go problems.

Here's the scenario of my QB1200 failure to light/feed pellets:

- Cold startup
- T-stat calling for heat
- Call light illuminated on
- Fans running

- NO PELLETS DROPPING

BUT

If I push the reset button, pellets start to fall and the stove lights and runs normally.

Basically the stove runs fine once it starts. The problem appears to be the cold start up and pellets won't start dropping unless I hit the reset button, i.e., simply receiving the call command form the t-stat doesn't trigger the auger to start dumping pellets, only a forced reset does.

Any ideas?

Controller loose, power glitches .....

mine did that until I put new pellets in it. I was thinking that the auger was getting jammed by the fines.

No fines. The unit was shiny clean prior to starting it up for the season. I've only used two bags so far this season.

It "feels" more like a controller issue or other system failure. I mean, if it were fines, I wouldn't think the would suddenly act normal once I push the reset button.

Then there is the case of Quad augers stopping or running backwards because of a bad capacitor.

When my scenario occurs, the only sound coming from the unit is running fans. The auger doesn't activate (forward or backward).

Well I'd be looking towards that capacitor being in the mix as one of the two states that don't drop pellets is the stopped state or your vacuum switch or one of the high limit/ drop chute burn back switches is open ...

Have you verified the lights in the controller, if that yellow light is flashing the stove can't see the thermocouple and won't feed, sometimes the connects on that get loose.

Are you burning a different pellet? How far closed is your feed plate?if its to far closed and your new pellets are longer than what you were burning?? Just a thought...

Lots of CB 1200 probs right now. Or Quads in general..

Have you cleaned the vacuum hose on the auger chute recently? Are the wires connected firmly to the terminals? Seems odd it would not work at all.

Have you verified 100% that it is not turning on 1st start?

My little quad would get me with this one, I'd come home to a cold house and all I needed to do was hit the reset. For some odd reason a fresh set of batteries would usually make it happen less often. Once I got my programmable stat it didn't happen after that.

Try batteries first(good fresh energizers or duracells). Next try a jumper wire JIC. Could just be the contacts in you stat??

Yep, that is EXACTLY what happened to me this year.

Sometimes it is the easiest things.... Sometimes not. But everything must be checked.... Even the batteries. I am guilty of this one too.

Alright, I finally had a few minutes to spend on this problem.

I unplugged the unit, unplugged the controller and put it back in, plugged the unit back in and it fired right up and is working normally.

I'll monitor it for a while to make sure it is actually working the way it is suppose to.

Thanks for the help.

Look back at the first response.

Now you know how I feel sometimes, Smokey.... ha ha ha :)

In any remote wireless thermostats.

Ha ha ha. No, the batteries in the snap disk
