Now just repeat that the first week of every month, eventually you'll get lucky. I think the price just reflects the number of rentals or similar, certainly mine was well used (if not used well.)

Only reason I check those was because we were in Chicagoland at sister-in-laws. I guess I could just Paypal her the cash if we find one!

Takes me 2 hours to get to the closest HD tool rental, but they are within 20 minutes of 5. How do they keep in business with so much territory overlap? Geesh.

I just paid $194 for one. They were happy to see it go. It had been marked down twice :smirk:. Haven't had it in wood yet, and it's still got the stupid chain on it. I want to tear off my deck on the back of the house, so that chain will be fine to ruin. Starts on second or third pull, nice and snappy all the way up to the rev limiter. We shall see.

Are you freaking kidding me? Under 200 bucks? Dannnnnggg!!!

Yeah, I quit looking. I went to rent a rotary hammer for a couple of hours, and there it was. Maybe you shouldn't be actively searching......

Oh, should I mention the history? The guy that was there at the computer said it was new in 09, rented 37 times, but was out for repair for 82 days this spring. Other guy walked up and said it was 'rebuilt. Somebody straight gassed it.' Rented three times since then.

Wow, $300 + for a used HD saw ? That seems like alot. I bought a brand new saw (not a refurb), although it was in 2008 for $357 (No tax but shipping was another $25). Excellent saw, and I just put a p&c for $100 bringing it up to 85cc. Lovin the extra power.

Very small windo on those prices it shut down quick. Pretty much 80-100 bucks every 10cc holds true. Unless you find the rare deal and count your hours on that and it will still hold true. ;-)

Yep, it depends on the saw and the timing. Try to find any ~64cc pro saw now for that price.

This time last year, you could order a new Makita 6401 via Home Depot for under $500, and Baileys had them for $472. The same saw with a CAT muffler, the 6421, is currently on sale for $599 at baileys (discounted from $649).
