how do you guys use the thermostat. I have the option of running it on manual just ramping heat up and down. I also can run off thermostat with the option of having it modulate back down to 1 when it gets close to setpoint or shutting the stove down. I also can adjust the differential to eliminate short cycles. My thought is maybe have the unit shut off when there isnt much heat demand in spring and fall. just wandering how you guys operate your stove thanks

I just started using one and I like the hi/lo option. Dont really want it shutting down completley. Maybe in the spring Ill try the auto off.

That is how I run my stove. On-Off in fall & spring "shoulder" seasons, and then switch to Hi-Lo when there is more demand all day. I have my Lux programmable set with a swing setting of 2 degrees.

Thats what I like about my Quad.. set it at 72 and letter go ....and it heats up... it gets to 74 shuts off.. and when it gets to 69 it comes back on...

What model lux do you have. I have this cheesy manual thermostat that came with the stove. Im looking for a programmable digital one

Fall/Spring I run Auto/Off with a programmable setback stat. Home/awake temp set to 72ºF and Away/Sleep set to 68ºF. Once the cold comes I go to Hi/Lo at night only. Change to Auto/Off before we leave for work. House will loose less heat during the day, So it doesn't call for heat until the program change. I will use Hi/Lo in the bitter cold due to excessive heat loss.

Lux TX500e is the stat I use.Has adjustable swing and 5/2 programming. All I need to do is change ther batteries once a season. No complaints, Its been good for our busy live style. Warm when we want it and saving fuel when away/sleeping.

Been doing it this way for 11 seasons and Only lost one Igniter so far. The reason I go to hi/lo is to ease the igniters work duties. When its warm out the lowest setting still raises my temps so it goes to auto/off. The average amount the igniter has to come on is 2x a day.
