Hello

Home Depot's $3.97 per bag Stove Chow and Lowe's $3.97 per bag Green Supremes. Saving the super Premium Geneva, Pacific Clean Fire and Logik-e pellets for a cold stormy northeaster winter night which may be tomorrow night!!

Don... Whats up with your glass? When was the last time you cleaned it? Looks very dirty... You know that any pic taken on this Forum has to be STAGED and make it look GOOD all the time...

Anyways... Got some Green Supremes in it. Burning very well. 1st time I have seen them in my area..

Hello Dexter
That reminds me of a stove shop I walked into. The 1st stove I saw had dirty glass. So I asked the guy why? He said to show customers what happens if you do not clean the glass! He was very knowledgeable so I thought that was cool and not all shops would do that.

I know glass gets dirty if you dont clean it. But my glass wouldnt be that dirty after 4 weeks of straight burning. Just wondering if you are trying to beat imacmans record for # of bags burned? I know most pics I post have at least a semi clean window. You have to be able to see the Fire. No?

This is after 4 days. After closing up my gable vents with the plywood doors I made, I run the stove on low 1 or 2 heat setting.
The last 4 days I ran on heat setting 2 which is 2.46 lbs per hour.

Closing up the gable ends and running rafter vents from the soffits to the ridge vent keeps the roof cool and makes the house 10 degrees warmer. Best heat retaining improvement I have ever done!!

Now below is a picture I just took and I still have not cleaned the glass. The flame is a little higher.

What heat setting do you typically use in lbs per hour??

I let mine get that dirty, I am the only one generally looking at the view. Seeing its in the basement, Only time the wife heads down is to warm here checks. She's looking the wrong way to see any of the fire. So glass is only cleaned once a week. Long as I can see the fire. The air wash on mine keeps a good view for the visual flame inspection. Usually takes a couple weeks for the glass to get that dirty where I don't see fire. Well with burning decent fuel that is, Toss in some clunkers and it a different story.

One reason I was looking at the Maxx was the little tiny view window option. I thought about getting the Maxx door for the Omega and I almost ordered it until I saw the price(ouch!). Much cheapier to just let the glass get dirty!

Don't worry Don, The stove police won't come get yah! If they showed up they would only be looking in the living area's. Probably say "he doesn't have a stove" and woander off!

Hey All -

Right now I'm burning Greene Teams - They're nice and HOT. Before them I burned through 10 bags of Maine's Choice - considerably less heat. I won't be using them again, as they were the same price as Greene Teams. And I have 150 bags of Okies in the garage just waiting for the real cold stuff!

I get my Somersets at the Gil Roys in Gaylord Michigan at 214 a ton. The biggest difference between Somersets and Pro's are Somersets have a smaller pellet, less ash .. and just a tad more heat..

Burning Somersets on level 1 right now!

Just got back from Menard's with another ton...Still in the truck, gotta go unload!

What's in your pellet stove right now??
Basement stove has NEWP, up stairs has Okanagans.

LG in both stoves for now.
Saving the Oakies & Spruce Pt for mid season.

Burning North Americans right now. A bunch more ash then the Vermonts that I burned last year for a little bit. Just burning the North Americans during the shoulder season. I have 4 tons of pellets and from my predictions (not scientific at all) I should only burn about 2.

I said that too some(11 - 12) seasons ago. Wife and I got hooked on the pellet heat. My 2 tons turned into 5 pretty quickly! Over the last 3 with pellet prices rising, We did some upgrades to reduce our consumption to around 3 1/2. But the stat stays at 72! Bosses law and I am not argueing! :)

American Wood Fibers, have 2 tons. Considering purchase of Potomacs

Kept my thermostat at 68 last year with it set to go down at night to 64 with my oil furnace. Hoping to keep it a nice toasty 71-72 this year with the stove.

I had a ton of Hamers left over from last year, burning them first. Then on to the cubex!

Burning Green Supremes, ok not really that impressed with them yet, burned NEWP reg bag last year way more heat.

What heat setting do you typically use in lbs per hour??

I normally run my Quad on Low 90% of the time. Which I believe is (1.7 lbs. an hr) or 14,000 BTU's. Would take over a week to get the glass that dirty. I try to clean it every weekend.. Because it is upstairs and everyone sees it, I like it to stay as clean as possible.

I was just wondering because I have never seen a pic of your stove that dirty (glass). Every air wash system is different. The Quad has a large gap across the top pf all 3 glass panes. It does a very hood job. Especially the main center section.

I wonder with all these new multi-fuelers (tons of 10-CPM's and M-55's) if someone is going to go after imacmans title.. I thought maybe you and the Astoria would give the record a go?? I would if I have an agitator in the pot. I cant believe Eric from Kinsman Stoves had such a good run with the heatilator..

Just dumping in some Easy Heats for tonight. To keep the thread on track.

Last two bags of Logik-e and then some Maine's Choice, which aren't that bad!

1 bag of patterson wood products that I am test this morning.

I'm on my 3rd bag ot Henry County Pellets.Better than Greenways the only other pellet I've burned.Love them...($160.00 per pallet--$3.20 per bag NO BRAINER)
