Our friends from NH visited for the weekend and Lee installed the red oak trim around the hearth.. He is a carpenter by trade and did a nice job now I need to seal and caulk it to the tile to complete the hearth.. Here are a couple pics.. We took them out to Isaac's On The Waterfront in Plymouth, Mass. and we all had a nice seafood dinner.. Excellent time had by all!

Sharp looking install Ray. Not sure how you keep everything so clean! I'm not careful enough to keep carpet looking like that near the stove.

Thanx Penn! The carpet is pretty beat as it is over 20 yrs. old.. I posted this in the hearth section as it is a hearth pic.. I am thinking of either just poly or a little stain on the oak to bring out the grain.. Will test this out on a scrap piece..

Looks good Ray! Looks like you have been getting some use from the stove also. Now that you have been burning how are you likg the fact you can see the fire after 20 years of looking at black glass? :)

Hi Jesse!
Yes, it's been getting cold here in fact it is 34 degrees right now and will get down in the 20's tonight.. I love the fire view on this stove! So far I love running this stove and it puts out alot of heat running 25% or less open and the blower is very quiet and makes a big difference! The T-5 is very easy to light and the learning curve has been short.. The secondaries light off pretty quickly too and the stove has been predictible.. Have you been able to let the T-6 rip yet?

Looks awesome Ray - and you just can't beat folks from NH......... ;-) Cheers!

Nope, still haven't let it rip yet the weather just hasn't been cold enough. I have run one partial load of hardwood through it and easily got ten hours with tons of coals for a restart. Right now I have been running partial loads of poplar/pine and getting plenty of heat out of it. The day it gets a full load is getting closer though as the weather keeps cooling off little by little.

Your install is one that I do not get tired of looking at. That is quite the heat machine. Nice job. Couldn't have it fired up while he was installing the trim? ;-)

Thanx Jon! We had it running as were working on it and it was pretty warm lol.. This stove gets the house pretty warm (it was 76 degrees when were working on the trim) and it was 70 degrees when I got up at 6:45 AM after I loaded the stove at 8 PM the night before.. Had just enough coals to relight this morning so I think an 8 hr. run is realistic..

Ray

Very nice installation.
