does anybody have a great source to get plumbing supplies online at great prices, i am looking to put a package together to plum a owb in my house and install wall radiators and maybe some baseboards

Outdoor Furnace Supply (OFS) seems to have decent prices also.

Keep it local if you can. No matter how much planning you are going to do, you will end up needing something you didn't think of. Plus with what shipping will run for the larger stuff, is it worth it?

I always like to support the local businesses as well. Unless it's not available locally or the price is just too far off I don't order online.

Maybe I can find a ball valve online for $6 and it costs $9 at the local plumbing supply, but I have it right there and then, plus didn't pay $20 in shipping.

Try to find a plumbers supply house that will sell to the public. Most won't advertise it but I would ask if they do cash sales. The prices were about 1/2 what HD or Menards had for ball valves and black iron fittings if those places even carried them. I was told by a plumber buddy to not try to return stuff there so I only bought what I for sure could use and then bought the rest from HD which of course has an easy return policy. HD will thread pipe for free if you buy it there. Rather than rent a pipe threader, I would stop before or after work get a few pieces, install them, then figure how long the next pieces needed to be. Menards seem to have decent prices on O2 barrier pex but I think Pex Supply is best on price for that or circulators

Local plumbing supply is good - most have never heard of a wood boiler, let alone a gasser. They probably will even talk to you> My local guy remembers me a year later - I can get anything at wholesale. I used Pex supply and was reasonable pleased, but I had a serious back-order problem which was not pretty. The Radiant Company put together a very nice package for me with the distribution zone manifolds, circulators, radiant pipe, etc. They were the main supplier for the radiant floors (3 zones) connected to a tankless heater before the boiler. Pex supply and local was my choice for the boiler plumbing (1 1/4 copper and PEX underground).

All my Pex lines from Blueridgecompany.com. They were priced close to Pexuniverse.com, but they are out off state so I didnt have to pay tax. (Pex supply, and Pex Universe are in NY). Coppertubingsales.com for the bulk of the copper fittings, 1/3 the price of Homedepot, and cheaper than plumbing wholesale. Then the rest of the supplies from Plumbing supply during the week. If I needed something NOW or on the weekend then homedepot.

Don't forget Ebay. There is lots of competition on there & this means very low prices at times. I bought my Magnehelic draft gauge for about $10.00, 1 1/2" cast iron strainer $10.00, 500 liter bladder expansion tank $450(this was a $7000.00 tank) etc etc etc, Randy
