Storage tank manifold Question

Here's a three-tank setup:

There's a manifold across the top and bottom. On the top between one end and the middle there's a tee for boiler supply, and between the other end and the middle there's a tee for load to draw from. And vice versa on the bottom.

If I had to do it again I wouldn't fool with the tees into the manifolds, I'd just run boiler supply into one end of the top manifold and pull load out the other end. And then use reverse return to bring load return into the opposite end of the bottom manifold and pull boiler return from the opposite end of the bottom manifold.
