Wow that's cheap!

Last time I checked on pellets they were 8 or 9$ a bag at the Lowes up the road.

Thats what i pay for pellets at TSC.

Lowes has always been $5.97 per bag around here.
Im not a big fan of lowes. prices on most everything is more expensive on comparable big box stores in my area.

I'm about to try my first bag of these Green Supreme..

What do you folks think of them?

Bought 5 bags @ Lowes in Epping, NH at the lower price last Friday.

Burn ok for me. A little too much ash IMO.

Yeah I picked up some bags @ 3.97 when they were 197/ton in Sept. Then they went up to $204 and now up again. Just like anything else, price goes up with demand in the colder weather. $224 still pretty good though compared to what pellets cost in my area about 3 years ago - if you could find them. Agways/True Values etc were at like $325.

Same here. Good heat IMO.

I really do not know how they kept them that low for so far into the season. I can not even bring pellets in for that price and I am working on over 70 loads (22 ton per load) for this year.

I'm burning them now. Everyones stoves are different
but in my St Croix they burn good. Comparing to
the Greene Teams I also have been burning -

Greene Team - super hot - considerably more ash than I've been accustomed to
while burning higher end pellets like Okies and Barefoot

Green Supreme - good heat - not as hot as the above but a lot less ash compared to the Greene Team

I am sure HD will be right behind - although they were still 197/ton on Monday.

just picked up 4 bags of greeway pellets at my local lowes
to try for 3.59 a bag by me

I just picked up 10 bags of Green Supremes today ($4.49) to try in my new St. Croix. I want to try several different brands before I purchase a few tons.

Last year I burned about 2 tons of O'Malleys in my Harmon Accentra (it'll burn pretty much anything).

I'm seeing more ash in my stove with these Green Surpreme
I also agree that they seem 'good', not the best I've burned..

Thanks for the input!

FYI....since this info hasn't made it to this thread yet i wanted to add that the Green Supremes are rebagged New England Wood Pellets. It says it on the bag, but not many people notice it.

In my stove they're burning very well. I bought them as a shoulder pellet, but they're doing better than I thought.

Green Supremes at Tractor supply $204 a ton today in Leominster MA

Saw these (Green Supremes) at Lowe's a few days ago @ 4.69 or maybe it was 4.49,,,,,anyway I put 3 bags on a cart thinking I would try them out. Got to the register and casually mentioned that Home Depot (about 1/2 mile up the street) was selling any brand of pellet they had for 3.94,,,, cashier said "no problem" and comenced to hitting keys on her register as if she were programming a nuclear device and then hit the total key, and showed me on the receipt that not only did they match HD's price,, but gave me an additional 10% off the total..............I went back and got 7 more bags,,, for a total of 10 bags for like $35.00!!!
I burned 2 bags and to be honest they are not the greatest,,, not alot of heat and they do mess up my glass alot more than the Prestos I have been burning,,, also from Lowe's bough back in Sept.

John

The Green Supremes burn fine but they do put out a lot of ash and dirty up the window quite a bit. They're fine for now since it's not that cold out. In fact, I turned off the heat yesterday and haven't started it back up yet.

FredDels, Did you notice any grinding noise with the Green Supremes in your stove?

I didn't notice any grinding noise at all.

I haven't heard any unusual sounds, been burning Green Supremes for a few weeks now. I have found another bit of foreign material, though, and will post a pic in another thread later.

Well this is interesting...
I just tried them and heard, for the first time, a grunting noise from my stove.
Stopped after a bit, but interesting you mentioned this.

I was just about to order the fitting, which I may still, when I saw this post.

Now I'll have to try another brand and check this out.
