Northern Colorado
Our new Harman Accentra Insert has arrived, been installed, and kicking out some major heat and I have to admit it is great. Here in Northern Colorado we have already had over 2 feet of snow during the past week and one night it got down to 12 degrees F, and I haven't had to bring in kindling and firewood, get the matches out, and tend over our wood burning furnace. And when we wake up or get home from a long day at work our home is still warm. Tomorrow will be its one week anniversary and I look forward to doing its first cleaning. Still waiting to determine how our pellet consumption will be. We received a free ton of Rocky Mountain pellets (produced not far from us in Walden, CO from beetle killed pine) and I couldn't be happier, although I've never used any other brand. They burn great, the bag has a convenient handle, and is transparent so you can see the pellets inside. We've gone through 3 bags and are on our forth already but the first one we went through fast as we burned the stove hot after installation just to burn off any oil residue, but the second and third lasted 2 days and kept our home comfortable at night and during the day while we were at work. So far I am very happy with this stove and if I was going to be picky I guess I would only change a couple things. The room temperature probe could be longer. That way we could experiment with more locations. Also the fan blower when turned to high is on the loud side. We usually keep in on low and that is fine. Other than that it is great. For anyone considering one of these stoves I would highly recommend it. The installation labor to replace this stove with our existing manufactured fireplace was just under $500 and the 4'' stainless steel liner for our existing manufactured chimney was around $200. It turns out we didn't need the zero clearance kit, and we decided not to go with an Outside Air Kit and have had no problem without it. With the free ton of quality pellets and the $100 coupon on the Harman website it really is a good deal. Here is a before and after pic. Thanks to this site and to you all for the great stories and information. Cheers

Oh Northern Michigan, I miss your trees and trout streams but our abundant sunshine and lack of mosquitoes almost makes up for that :)
