Compost pile? Garden? Garbage?

Just curious as to what every one does with the ash. I'm adding it to our compost. It'll make it to the garden sooner or later.

I dump the ashes from our wood stoves on the garden and add some to the garbage can that I use for compost. I don't want to send the good ash to the landfill. I only caught the garden on fire once by dumping hot ashes on the leaf pile beside the garden. I actually needed to use the garden hose to put out the fire. Don't worry, the garden is not near any buildings.

I spread mine on the lawn

I compost all my leaves in a large area and during the winter I spread the ash in that area. Then in the spring I'II till them in to speed the composting...

in garden and around trees.

Return to the woodlot.

In a steel bucket behind the garage, empty in the leaf pile
before the next time I empty the ash pan.

Garden...

Save 'em up in a metal bucket until the driveway gets slickery, then strew 'em there.

I used to top up the litter box, but now that the cat is gone I'm rethinking that (she kept peeing on the floors, not sure why she wouldn't use the litter box...)

I'm just dumping them under some fir trees in the corner of the yard. Out of sight, out of mind.

spread on the lawn I guess.

End of season in the trash, little at a time.

that right there warrants a "WTH?"

Pellet stove and flue cleaning at its best, attach a leaf blower intake to the venting.

Turn it on.

Get out of its way and plug it in and watch the smoke show.
