Stove Top Temps in these pics were about 800. Man that 30 is one mean stove. Started to get a little scary. Hot as the devil himself.

yes its aluminum foil. Cut it out with a razor. It lasted about 30 minutes and started to burn up from the heat. It did get to 800 stove top temp in the pics.

Oh man, I'm the aluminum foil king too, I need to remember this for next year's halloween... The stove in our basement is in view of the trick-or-treaters through the basement sliding glass door.

Brilliant idea, how do I remember this in 51 weeks......... ;-)
 
Would it work to put it on the outside of the glass, so it won't burn up?
 
I thought about making one next year out of stainless sheet and a plasma cutter.

BTW that is a beautiful hearth setup......building mine right now, will post pics soon.......did you do the masonry?....that is one of my fortes, I love doing stone masonry!!!
