A beautiful fall evening up here in MA. 51 degrees last I checked, and there is no wind. I bucked a bunch and split a few new oak and maple I got from last weeks storm earlier today. I got busy early evening and.. to be honest.. had to get away from the wife.
Stacked maybe 1/3 of a cord after the sunset at 4:30. I may be stacking by moonlight again.

When cutting, splitting or stacking, I can get into a zone. No cares. No worries, well, except for cutting off a leg or something. The only other thing that gives me a similar feeling is playing my fiddle.

I was into the stacking zone.. No cares. Same here with my Jazz bass.

One of my favorite things to do. Goes great with drinkin beer.

Sounds like a great way to spend an evening. How about 4:30 sunset times? Really gets dark early now and I'm always amazed at how much earlier it is on the east coast.

I hate this time of year . . . just because it gets dark so early in the evening. In the dead of winter I'm getting up in the dark and coming home in the dark . . . then again . . . I suppose it could be worse, right?
