I am purchasing a new pellet stove. I have had an Enviro Vista Flame for the last 3 winters and loved it. No problems of any kind. My options for a new stove are a Lopi Leyden or an Enviro Meridian. Any thoughts would be helpful. Thanks.

I have had the Lopi Leyden since 2008, has been a great stove for me. Have no clue what your requirements are based on your post. Good luck!

Doesnt the Leyden heat almost twice the sq footage, according to specs, as the Enviro does?

The meridian and vista flame are basically the same stove and heat 2000 sq ft. The leyden heats 2250 sqft. These two choices are available near me and I can get service on both from supplier.

Thee must be a mistake on the Enviro website. It says the Enviro Meridian heats 1200 sq ft...

I've had a Meridian for 9 years and it's been been a very reliable stove. It heats more than 1200 sq ft. My house is 1900 and it keeps my house toasty.

Just wondering why your already upgrading the VistaFlame?

Both units your looking at are good ones. I would like to know what prices are. Other things like hopper size and the bells and whisles that usually point to the winner.

One feature the Enviro has the lopi doesn't is the hi/lo that's real handy in the cold weather.

The meridian brochure says heats 2000 sqft. It is the same stove as vista flame which I have now and heats my whole house nicely on setting 2-- 1600 sqft.

Have you looked at the Enviro M55 Cast FS. Looks similar to the lopi but much easier to maintain. You dont have to shut stove down and clean around burnpot. All the ash falls directly into ash pan. Also is multifuel.

I looked here. They should correct this on their website...

True, my in-laws have an Empress and i like the way it has the slots in bottom and most ash just falls down to ash pan. But, I remove the Leyden cast iron traps and scrape the ash down into the ash pan while it's still running no problem. Just need to make it quick...

I'm selling my vista flame to a family member who can't afford a new one. The meridian is $2900 and Leyden is $3200. I have one other stove shop I will check out tomorrow. Yes, the hi/lo feature on the enviro is nice and I see the Lopi doesn't have that. I am actually using that setting on my vista flame now. One thing that is selling me on the Lopi is the cleaning. It looks to be easier than the enviro. The lopi 's blowers have covers that you can take off and clean out the fans. My enviro doesn't have that. Tomorrow I am looking at a Harman P61. I REALLY want a harman!!!

I agree that this is a highly useful feature that I wish my stove had.

So let me see if I have this right. The Enviro will cycle hi/lo with the thermostat, but the Lopi will just turn on and off? Which way saves more on pellet usage?

Hi /lo will still burn pellets on low so you would burn more on this setting.( You know its coming vin). The enviro also has auto/off witch will shut down when there is no call for heat. In the auto off position when the stove reaches set temp. it will cycle to low for 30 minutes I believe and at that time if there is no call for heat it will shut down. This will save igniter life if it doesnt have to restart from off repeatedly.

Yes, you are right. This is how my vista flame runs! Don't think lopi leyden has this feature.

dont by it on my recommendation alone. Youve looked at others I assume and when you see the m55 you can make comparisons and see for yourself.
Im am 100 percent satisfied with mine and have not heard anything negative on here about them.

Good luck and keep us posted.

PS I Might have to change my signature to Enviro King. I like it

I wont but what I have seen so far and the dealers I have been to, I am happiest with the pleasant attitude of the lady in Center Moriches and the specs and features of the M55. At least when I have an issue I know who to call... Enviro King!!

I do like the Wittus. Highest efficiency ratings around. However, no dealer in the area and really expensive...

I assume the lady was billy. Shes sweet. Did you get to talk to bill. If you buy it from them you'll deffinetly get great customer service.

Will talk to Bill when we go on Saturday..

]Good Luck
