HD Hooksett is out of pellets (heard they had Energex) and they're not sure when the next load is coming in...

Agaway Hooksett only has NEWP's right now $269 a ton
I was told they would not be carrying the Okies this year.... bad news to me!
They stated they had to many pallets come through with 'wet' pellets (they store inside)..

HD in Mohegan Lake, NY (Westchester County on Rt. 6) has about 50 pallets of pellets. Most are American Wood Fibers, about 4 or 6 are Stove Chow probably left over from their last shipment. Still 197/ton or 3.94/bag. I pick some AWF up every time I pass by. Have carted 3/4 ton home so far. I like them better than Stove Chow in my stove.

The down side is outside storage, if that is an issue for you.

Have you checked the "Fuel Price Reports" link at the top of the page for NH?

Just got 3 ton of Green Supreme at Lowes of Hackettstown. Still $179/ton + 5% off for signing up for Lowes card. The shelves were pretty bare, but supplies are still coming in--they just sell 'em off as fast as they get 'em in. Also nice is that the employees at this store actually seem to know about pellets! Hoping some more Somersets come in but can't wait around for them not knowing if/when the price will raise like at some other Lowes.

Picked up my last ton of Green Supremes at Lowes in Seabrook, NH that I bought a month ago. When I asked about purchasing another ton (oink oink) she said they aren't taking any new orders and to check back next week...

My local close-out joint has hardwoods for $200/ton... not sure what brand.

Tractor Supply has Green Supremes(Made by NEWP) for $204 a ton as of yesterday.

So far the supply still looks pretty good. Both the boxstores and pellet houses have fuel in stock. But there are a few brands that seem to be MIA or limited quantities available. I have noticed that the stacks at TSC have dwindled compared to what they had in September. All have raised there prices to a degree.

Spring price for Hamers was $240/ton and they are now over $280/ton. I'm betting by spring they will be over $300/ton!

I have not been able to buy my supply of pellets yet. Since I decided to go with the pellet furnace, I used up a big chunk of change on that. I've been buying 10-15 bags at a time. I'll probably try to purchase a few tons in the next couple of weeks.

Local Walmart in Mohegan lake (Route 6) has Pennington Nature's Heat Pellets at $5/bag - and they are stored outdoors but under cover of a roof in the garden area.

Too rich for my blood.

First year burning pellets. Bought 3 tons of the Maine Woods Pellets from SIB Enterprises (Jay, ME). $219/ton delivered to my cellar window ($199 p/u) These seem to burn very good but only can compare them to the couple of bags of Maine Choice I have tried. So far have burned about 20 bags of pellets to heat a log home that is not very energy efficient. Seems to be plenty of supply in the area.

Our local stove store - Home & Hearth on East Main Street in Mohegan lake is selling Cubex at $7 a bag. Believe it or not my local Shoprite Supermarket has Appalachian Hardwood Pellets (from Premier Pellet Co. in Pennsylvania) for $6.49/bag.

Early Spring buy for Hamers was $225, they're now at $255. I really don't want to see $300 anytime soon.

Any other Canadians on here? Specifically in Eastern Ontario?

Ottawa Wood Pellet Sales:
Cubex $5.30/bag
He also has Granules LG, and they're $4.80/bag (I think)

He gave me one of each with the stove, not sure which is best, being a total newbie and all.

Same here! But with all these new stove sales and peeps trying to ween themselves of Oil/Propane price shock? Its raising the demand and effecting the supply. Not to mention whats being shipped to Europe. Hopefully we see the more new mills and Others ramp up to keep ahead. Lucky we have some new log to chip mills geared up so they will have a steady fiber supply. Just hope its enough to settle things.

I'll be fine, I have a stove that can handle even the crap brands if I have to sludge the bottom. Or even other fuels if need be! I had my share of pellet shortages!

Called TSC in Hooksett last Sunday, after reading a post in the "Fuel Price Report", and the had Lignetics for $179/ton

Check w/ EastCoastLumber in hampstead, if they are close enough for you. At least locally they do a $30/delivery... not 30/ton like some places. This for me was a big reason for doing a multi-ton purchase. I was really impressed with their mofit driver, he got the pellets into a very tight space.

Yes, the delivery charge has to be factored in. I just ordered 4 tons and the flat rate delivery charge is $54 and they use a Moffett so I can have them drop the pallets just about anywhere.

Good thread...are there (m)any Canadians on this forum...it'd be good to have a similar thread for us Canucks.

Have you tried the Lignetic's?
Any good?
So far I've found TSC to carry medium run pellets...

Thanks for the responses folks!
Forgot all about East Coast Lumber...

Just called HD in Hooksett & Londonderry (both very accessible for me).
Firesides are in!
$209 a ton.

Heading out shortly to stock up.
These may be considered a cheap pellet by some here.
For me, my hottest pellet, 2nd longest running pellet and best buy dollar wise.

I just picked up a pallet of Heartland pellets from my local farm and fleet for $3.99 a bag, $239.40 a pallet....I know that doesn't add up. For some reason Heartland puts 60 bags on a pallet, and yes they are 40lbs bags.

My supplier can't get anymore Somersets for some reason at this time and I needed one more ton. They have Lignetics or whatever... are they any good.. can someone comment ??

Green labeled Lignetics are decent. But the Blue label would ruffle your feathers some. Pretty dirty IMHO. Best way is to try a few bags first, JIC!
