Anyone ever order from them? Basically they're a clearinghouse for remanufactured auto parts that are priced way below the chain parts stores. They seem to carry everything on earth but you have to know what you're looking for-the interface is not that friendly, so if you're not absolutely sure of what you need it can be daunting to find it and be sure that it's right. They also carry varying grades of parts from cheap Chinese aftermarket to high quality brand name remanufactured (ie: Raybestos, Wagner, etc...) stuff. I am considering ordering a set of calipers from them for my 1991 Toyota pickup. An easy upgrade for these trucks is to use the calipers and rotors from a T-100 1 ton 4x4-the brakes are huge compared to the stock brakes the little 4 cylinder trucks came with. The problem is the core charges that most brick and mortar stores charge-my local NAPA wants $138 each for the calipers-the core charge is around $75, which works out to over $200 a caliper when all is said and done. Rock Auto only charges $89 for the caliper (these are for Raybestos loaded calipers) and a $10 core which I'll eat for a total cost of $99 a caliper. Sounds pretty good, but I'm wondering if anyone here has had any experience with them?

I've purchased from them 1/2 dozen times or so. No problems here.

I use them all the time fast shipping and easy returns. Just make sure you check shipping charges before you click to confirm.

What makes you think that?

They are actually a regular auto parts store that is based online. They sell the same/similar items that the local parts place sells, though often for a better price. The interface is CAKE to use. I have often found what I needed on that site and called it in to NAPA because they couldn't find it (and nor could I using their site)

Why do you care about the core charge? You get it back...

I've used them before on getting parts for our Honda Odyssey. Decent prices and quick shipping as well. I would order from the again

He won't because he's buying different calipers for his truck, what he would have for a core wouldn't match what he is buying.

Rock Auto is very good, they sell first quality parts.
Very good customer service, parts ship the same day in most cases.

Here is a discount code, 5% off on parts.

Follow the instructions while in the shopping cart area to use correctly.

Most recently bought a top end gasket set for the wife's Subaru. Had to get head bolts as well, They had Fel Pro bolts and DMJ brand, Which were half the cost (I would of had to order 2 sets of Fel Pro bolts to do the entire engine).

The DMJ bolts were American Made from California.

You can call and ask about the core, most likely any rebuilder will accept any brand of core or the factory originals if they are rebuildable. Send it back in the box the new ones are sent in, they may even supply the shipping label.

You put them in the box and bring them back - they give you core charge back. They don't usually check to see which calipers are in there. It is very common for folks to upgrade their toyota brakes to ones from their bigger relatives. everyone brings the other calipers back for core. The core is still worth around the same amount that the other one is.

I have been happy with all my purchases from them. I agree that the site is great for researching parts even when buying from another source. They are usually cheaper than my local guy even with the shipping. I still try to buy local whenever possible. Just be aware that they offer parts at several different price points. Decide what is important to you. price or quality. You usually have to chose one or the other.

I ordered from them 2 times without any problems... no problems....you can choose reman or new for most parts and their deals are pretty good.

Now I know why the parts in the box don't match the ones listed on the box.... :-S :)

Well, they're almost exactly half price even with shipping on 2 items I need. Same brand/model # or I could have gone with a cheaper alternative brand. Thanks for enlightening me.
