Greetings all. It's getting chilly and I'm trying to get my Martin pellet stove in order. The board is fried and I have a friend that is trying to put one together. He's not having much success. I just want something as simple as it gets. Just need to be able to dictate how often the auger turns and for how long and need a fan control as well.
Fans always on would be fine with me. I don't know anything about electronics and could use some help. Anyone else make their own stove controls? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the quick reply Smokey. I have been in contact with them several times over the years. Unfortunately, the replacement boards are 300 bucks and repairing your existing board costs 200 and thats too much for me right now.

Could you describe what you mean when you said your current board is fried?

If you post the timing information, etc .. maybe someone might be able to cross it to another control board or offer up a list of what would be needed to cobble together one. You need to understand that any such setup is definitely not up to manufacturers specifications.

I know it wouldn't be up to the specs of the manufacturer. If it was in the house, I wouldn't even consider a homemade board but it's in the garage and only runs when I'm present. As to the board, a triac burned and was replaced by the same friend trying to build a new board. It never worked after that. There are some other components burned but I don't know what they're called. I crossed some wires stupidly. As for timing information, I have none. I searched my information. It's a 4 rpm motor. Probably around every 10 seconds the auger would turn anywhere from 2 to 6 seconds.

I too would like to know how to assemble a board for my Martin FS-3. That is the only part of the stove I feel uncomfortable with if it quits. All the rest of these stoves are pretty much off the shelf items or something can be made to work. Anyone want to tackle this? I also heard somewhere once a standard board for some other type of furnace with an auger might work in them. No idea how to chase this though. I have tried searching the net. Anyone?

Burny,
Thanks, that should be a good starting point for building one for the Martin Venturi. It is more complex because some of the functions are not on the Martin. Maybe someone here that knows electronics would review it and come up with a diagram for us? I know the "pressure switch" and "door switch" wouldn't be needed. I think the "momentary switch to start" would go too and just take the red wire directly to the "timer"? The "low limit snap switch" would go too I think (just eliminate the pink wire altogether?)? I need guidance on this. I have the wiring diagram for the Martin (not the circuit board itself). I really don't know what I'm doing so don't anyone try this unless you really have good info. We need some help with this!!!!!!!
