I just stopped into my local Home Depot and noticed that the price per ton just went up from $197 to $224. I checked another Home Depot and they went up as well.

Luckly I already purchased 4 tons at the lower price.

Stock up now if the price is still low in your area!

Yep, price of heating oil/nat. gas goes up, and pellets aren't too far behind.

I "smelled" that coming! We have had some cold weather here and snow so I grabbed my last 1/2 for 2011 last weekend at $207. I managed to stash another 2 tons of the Fireside Supreme, all at $207 and I am a happy, happy camper! Will now wait till the beginning of February, when I should be down about 2 tons, to start for looking for MORE. Will burn these Fireside for shoulder work, and sitting on 2.5 tons of Somersets that I got at Lowe's last February for $209/ton and almost 1.5 tons of Barefoots that are two years old and paid about $250/ton. Love bringing my cost average DOWN! :)

All set with about 5 and a half tons as of now. Every warm day we have gets me further and further ahead. Might even have a chance of there being a few left over for next fall. I had burned a ton by this time last year.

Guess it depends on your location. Spruce Pointe pellets in Calgary are $250.oo per pallet. And those are softwood pellets...Its pretty rare to find a steady supply of hardwood that are under $8.oo per bag!

I stopped into the same Home Depot today, 18 days later, and the price has gone up again. The price for the same AWF pellets went from $4.48 per bag to $5.47 per bag. Ouch!
