Hi I'm looking to buy a new pellet stove I already have two Jamestown j 1000's but am looking to save a little money and am wondering who makes the echo choice heatilator stove I can't really find alot about them on the web. Any. Omments on them would be helpfull

I think Quad? makes them, I just lit my new CAB 50 for the first time about an hour ago, I'll post my findings as I go along. Seems to be working good....it is fairly noisy on high but low and med aren't too bad.

They are made by Hearth and Home like quad.I have the ECO CHOICE PS50 and love it.I have pics on here somewhere.Second year and still running strong.Heats a 2000 square foot home on medium.keep it clean and she will do well for you.

i've got the ps50 too.
the cab is rated the same but has a much bigger hopper.

i love it. it's the only pellet stove i've ever had. and i've only had it going on a month now.
but it's super easy to clean. loud on high like mentioned. but medium is really nice and does well with our 925 sq. ft. home. it's rated for 1200 sq. feet. but you want to have some headroom left over if it's your only heat source.
one thing i notice it that the glass stays really clean. i have read about some other stoves that seem to get dirty faster.
it is a low cost model. and they have used a simpler shell and it has only a one year warranty on electronics as opposed to the 2 year i think a quad has.
they also use just the 3 back baffle plates that channel the hot air through a down, up, down and out the combustion blower path, and a flat plate at the top of the firebox with a chamber above it to do the heat exchange. no tubes.
it still has efficiency enough to qualify for the $300 tax credit. so it's not shabby at all in that respect.
i just look at it as one less thing to clean.
the motors are easily accessible by removing the side plates.
the glass is nice and big too.
we actually love how it looks in our house.
we have a nice place. but not fancy. it fits right in imo.
but it is *very* plain.
the auger is the flexible kind a few other stoves have. pretty much jam free.
big ash drawer and i can fit my head and one arm in for pot scraping
it does have the pull rod for clearing the pot as well.
i clean it every day.
even if i say i'm not going to. i still do.
i say "it", but we call her helga.
she heats really well.
oh. and as you can see, it has a pedestal that keeps the box high up enough that it only requires a non combustible pad. not a thermal rated one.

looks good.That flame there looks like medium on mine.I like the plain but function look.I saved a lot without all the fancy trim.I have a temp gauge you would put on your stove pipe,just below the vents where the hot air comes out.On medium it reads 420 degrees.On high it reads 550 degrees.Low is 325-350.Just some stuff I do.I have had pellets burn 50 degrees cooler then others.Get a few bags of different brands and check them out.I have my best pellet and a back up brand.I burn four tons a year.Actually a have a few back up brands.I run mine on medium 90 percent of the time.Take care.if you have any questions,just ask.Dave
