Just over a face cord between my 2 burners using up the soft maple, poplar, cottonwood. Going to break into the good stuff here in shortly.

Almost nothing here as well. We are weekend only burners (NG cheap enough to make it not worth keeping it going while at work).

Only one or 2 weekends that it got cold enough to burn all day. That and a few fireplace fires.... barely enough to measure, maybe a quarter of a face cord.

I had set out to check what we burned this season, but so far, we have had an unusually mild November.

We have really only lit up in the late afternoon and burned well under a cubic foot a day so far.

After all the dire warnings here about a cold Autumn and Winter, we might be left with a load of unburned wood next Spring........

What a shame ;-)

two stoves 2/3's of a cord

its been really warm here in Dutchess County NY, I have burnt a total of 3 days. I fired up the NC30 tonight as we are expecting temps to drop in the low 30s overnight but yesterday it was 62 and last week it was almost 70. Do not fret my friends, the cold will soon be here. Save your wood for January and February if you can.

about 1/3 cord, been burnin 24/7 for about a month, its our primary heat, right now, at 9 pm, its -2 F!

Hard to calculate since I've been going around filling up my wood bin with a lot of branch scraps and splitting scraps and bark and various lumber and pallet scraps and partially punked wood. Used only a few "nice" pieces of pine splits and rounds so far (don't laugh, if you saw a picture of this place you would understand why we call pine "nice.") I'm guessing I've used 1/4 cord since we put the stove in ~10 days ago. Furnace has not run since. Hard to calculate for scraps since they don't contain the sort of BTUs you get from nice solid chunks from a tree trunk. Technically speaking, if we had been burning nice denser pieces I'm sure the consumption would be lower on the ft^3 calculation.

Std 3bed/2bath single storie ranch, something around 1400-1500 sq ft. House is well sealed and well insulated. 10* yesterday with 50-60mph wind and no trouble keeping it at 75* with the stove on low.

About 1/3 a cord, maybe a bit more. What I'm burning now is a mix of birch, cottonwood and spruce. Have about 1/2 cord of that. The rest of wood I have is all birch.

I burned 3 cords total last year with about 7 months of burning, probably 6 months 24/7 burning.

Boy this sounds unbelievable, my mind says, can't be. How many sq.ft are you heating...

im telling ya its all them houses around you in the subdivision. when i lived in a city with lotsa houses it took less wood.

Just finishing up our first face cord. First fire was on Labor Day, then warm weather hit and really only started nightly fires in the past couple weeks or so. Like most responses here, it has been much less than what we were doing last year.
22F outside here this morning! Love it.

ya i too am burning chunks and crap wood 1st id say im 1/4 cord weather here has been all over the place.

'Bout a face cord of poplar and other some stuff - bit of dead ash I cleaned up from the side of the laneway, bit of maple. Had the fire going off and on then steady for a few days then shut down when it warmed up. Burning more regularly now that it's getting cold.

Upstairs and downstairs combined, about 10 fires built so far. With sunny days in the high-40's and nights in the high 20's, the solar heaters can comfortably heat this place.

I would say I burned about 50 splits so far. All the burning was done when we lost power for 4 days (no gas heat). Just starting to get cold now, but supposed to warm up again for a couple of days. Can't wait to burn my 2 year old seasoned wood .... got about 1/2 cord left. Wanna see how much better it burns then the 1 yr old stuff I usually burn.
