The other Cape..
has everybody like them I burnt a few bags and they put out OK heat but a little bit more dirty then some other hard woods i burn

Got them for real cheap price and was surprised they are super premium pellets

overall not a bad shoulder pellet

I really like them...they put a lot of heat out in my Thelin...I do get some ash but it's a clean ash...light in color..I bought these last week and the place only had them for 2 days...they were double wrapped and dated 10/11..I just bought 2 tons..LOL..

I just had 4 tons of Geneva dropped off in my driveway.

Lets use know how you like them...the heat is a lot more compaired to the MWP (mixed) that I burn...the house gets up about 4 degrees more with the Geneva pellets!!!

I probably won't start using them for another week or two since I still have some others to use first.

I bought a bag to try. The pellets were normal diameter but averaged shorter in length than most brands,3/8-3/4". Bright in color. They are listed as 4% moisture which is low. Threw some in the old whitfield tonight with auger set on 1(same as I've been running this fall). They are burning really fast!
I will need to loosen the locking set collar on the damper slide to lower my minimum setting to try to slow them down. First pellet in 4 years that I've had this issue. But first I need to pull the combustion motor to clean the damper slide as it's sticky trying to push it past the old minimum stop area.

After burning about 3/4 of a ton, I also find that there's a lot of ash with these pellets. So far, the heat output has been ok. We'll see when the really cold weather comes.

Hello

Geneva pellets come from the same plant as Maine's choice but have less moisture. They are good but not as good as Clean fire Pacific blend. They are the best around here!

If they're the same as the Maine's Choice, then I can get (or could get) the Maine's Choice for less (than the Geneva's) at Lowe's. I did burn about 20 bags of Maine's Choice and they were also ok.

For me, the heat is a little above a shoulder pellet. But, the pellets are small and fast burning, so I had to turn up the feed to keep the fire going. Ash seems to be average, but I have not found any low ash pellets this year.

Say Don2222, where you getting those Cleanfires? TIA.

Giving this a bump, I just started the Geneva test. Very low fines. Heat seems OK. But I only just started the 2 bag burn!

Hoping to hear what you fella's think of them so far?

Not even a close comparison - lol

CleanFire Pacifics are comparable to Okies, Geneva/Maine's Choice are comparable to NEWP.

I burned 6 tons of Maine's Choice a few years back and liked them. They had little fines, and avg ash and heat. Certainly not a high end pellet like Okies or CleanFire Pacifics, but the best hardwood blend pellet I have burned.

MWP blend is just plain awful though!!! Lots of ash and low heat ~ I wouldn't recommend those to anyone.

I have burned about 1 ton of them so far and I don't think I could recommend these at all. There is a lot of ash. The heat output has be just ok.

I purchased 4 tons of these so I'll be burning them all winter. We'll see how the heat is once the really cold weather hits. I figure I'm going to need to buy another ton or two for the end of the season. I'll see what's available for a decent price as we get closer to march.

I just finished my test on The Geneva's. Ash was seemingly alot But in volume not by actual weight. They are in the spec listed on the bag. Volume is deceiving!

Heat was good but not outstanding. I was hoping for more. :-S

+1. I wouldn't go too long without cleaning with these because of the ash volume. I was hoping for more too.

I shut down my St.Croix at least once a week to clean it out. My Harmon Accentra has more issues with the Geneva ash output as I have to clear the burn pot area twice a day as it really fills up quickly.

My 1st ton is full of fine & dust, most by far, of the 6 different brands I've tried so far. Heat is ok. Won't being pay $250/ton again in the future unless product improves.

I agree. There's also a smell to them. Smells sort of like glue or some type of chemical.
