HHT helped me out a ton with my Harman Accentra insert. I had issues with my stove combustion blower never shutting off unless I unplugged it. It was also running strange, basically doing what it wanted. I changed the ESP but it still did the same thing. My local dealer has an answering service taking all their calls and I left 3 messages with them. I heard nothing for 3 weeks, then finally contacted HHT. An hour after I got off the phone with them, the owner of the local dealer called me, He said he had a board and I went the next day to buy it. He put the board on the counter in a opened box wrapped in dirty bubble wrap. I took th eboard out and it was definitly used. The dealer informed me that it was what he had and if I wanted another one I would wait 10 days so he could re-order it. Meanwhile HHT contacted me to ask how I made out. When I told them what happened they apologized and informed me that they are sending me a board free of charge. 2 days later the board was at my house. I installed it and the Accentra now works flawless.

Sounds like you'll never be able to rely on your so-called dealer! It's encouraging that HHT was willing to help you. Usually posts here say that the owners are always referred to their dealer and they can't communicate with the manufacturer. Maybe HHT is finally waking up to the fact that many stove owners are being left stranded when dealers go out of business or refuse to help because HHT gives them so small a reimbursement for after the sale follow-up problems. Hope it's a sign of good things to come.

I had my store's land line converted to a cell phone. I do not answer is 100% of the time but over 90%. In this business / economy you can not afford to miss calls.

Eric...Wish I would have done business with you, You sound like a great dealer!! Just a little to far down the road.

Great news to see that they recognize the consumer as a value rather than a nuisance.

When I purchased my Harman Advance a few years ago I ran into a problem. The microprocessor radiated a signal on the 160 meter amateur radio band that destroyed reception.

I wrote to Harman and was completely ignored.

I wanted to use a night set-back thermometer - wrote to them with a question - again totally ignored.

My temperature control became intermittent - rather than be ignored, I replaced the cheap foreign made potentiometer with a better one.

When my stove went wacko and turned itself off and on at will - rather than be ignored I replaced a defective chip on the board.

Harman was no help at all, but my local dealer - Home & Hearth, Hampton Falls,NH was a wonderful resource - a knowledgeable tech and willing to share the knowledge.

I was able to take care of the problems and share my experiences with the dealer - I would not waste time trying to share with Harman at the time - they could care less.

I am fortunate to have 60+ years experience with electro-mechanical systems - otherwise I would have filled the damn pellet stove with concrete and used it for a tower anchor.

Woah... more detail please! Were you able to eliminate the interference or do you just live with it?

I haven't noticed any RFI yet but I haven't had the radios on much. I did ask another ham in another thread here if he had RFI issues but I guess he didn't see it.

Sprague AC line filter INSIDE the stove cabinet - a pair of .001 ceramic caps from each side of the room sensor lead to chassis ground OUTSIDE the cabinet.

Oh No! I hope the Quads I just installed don't do that. It's almost time for 160! DE WU2M

Thank heavens I don't go on 160 meters! I have two stoves! I stay mostly on 10 (when sunspots allow it) and 15.

Hey Brian, Sorry I didn't see your question about RFI in the other thread. I will answer here, I haven't experienced any that I know of. However I don't get on 160 due to not having a 160 antenna. I enjoy MW dx'ing and have had no problems there however. And no problems on 80-10 running a VERTICAL. :) 73, Phil K2PJW
