I have read posts on this forum about Santa Fe owners making adjustments to the blower. For instance one owner said he has modified his blower to remain on high when the rocker switch is set at medium which would allow for a slower pellet feed rate while still having a strong air output. This is exactly what I would like to achieve due to the fact that the medium fan speed on the Santa Fe is not very strong. Is this procedure something that can be explained on this forum or is it too involved.

You could run on high and make adjustment to the feed rate setting in the hopper. Using the feed rate rod .I usually run on medium except went it gets real cold.

My feed rate rod is already at the smallest opening possible. I can get by with that because I use Hammer pellets and they are a very short pellet. I would prefer to set the rocker switch to med because I believe that alters the frequency of auger rotations thus using fewer pellet while at the same time make the blower stay on high which blows much stronger than medium on the Santa Fe. That's the mod I'm looking for.

Hey Dexter, thanks for the link. I think I'm going to try this mod. Great post.

Well. The 2 members from the last thread did (B-Mod and tnjamniw) and seem to like it. Allows you to run on a low firing rate and still move a lot of air. The more air you move, the better the convection rate will be.

I have thought about doing this to my CB 1200. I run mainly on Low and get pretty high temps out of the exchange tubes. Raising the convection speed will lower the exchange temps. But I am curious as to how much more effective it will be than the rate it blows now.

Everyone keep in mind the dangers that come with electricity and also modifications done to a stove still under warranty (hate to be a buzz kill). Always preform work on stove with it unplugged...

Just something to keep in mind...

This mod works great, I can heat my whole house leaving the stove on the low heat setting but the blower is running on high. Only time I turn the fan speed down is if I want less noise in the room it is in. Nothing to lose, it is a easy mod, that if you don't like it, you can go back to stock very easily..........

Where did you get the springs ? And will just doing the springs make a differance?

A theoretical question on this mod...

What if I had a three-way switch, where one leg was constant? That leg is usually the feed, but I would use it to the blower instead. Then one of the other two legs could be wired to the original wire from the control, so if you wanted low fan/low noise, fine. The other leg could be wired to snap3 constant 110v, so if you wanted high fan, like overnight, but medium setting, just throw the switch.

Just thinking out loud for now.
